They are the same thing (i.e. use the same protocol) but work differently. A bog standard DiSEqC 1.2 simply sends memorised positions to the motor which then moves to that position (1, 2, 3 etc). USALS on the other hand sends the satellite position angle to the motor based on what you enter as your coordinates... So because of this, the set up in the menu...
