    Hello!
    and welcome on board!
badr 6 is just lunched,in the first july week,i dont here any report that is curencly active with porgrams!
but i think it will start very soon!

for 26 east cband positions i recomended minimum of 1,50 m full size dish here, with my 1,86 m dish i can nearly reveive everything!
the 30,5 e at the moment is much weaker, and needs ofert 2 m dish, but lets wait, until the new satelite is in service, then we know more!
what dish dou you have at the moment?

My System: 90 cm triax dish Satellite badr 3/4 80 cm dish for Hotbird

    i have Triax 90 cm....and i receive quite a good signal of badr 3/4
i heard that the Ku-band of badr 6 is not covering europe...only north africa and the middle east...unlike the C-band which will have a good reception in europe...so i wondered if i could receive them also with my same digital receiver and dish....

    thanks for your reply

To receive any C band transmissions you will need a C band lnb and a C band stb, but until transmissions start nobody knows...... Badr 6 is currently at the 20 East slot

i mean the old badr cband satelite, the new one is sitll not in serice, but i think it will start soon!

look that you find a cheap 1,80m dish, thats a good size for cband!
30,5 east badr is much more lower in signal then 26e in cband!

My System: 75e-75w C & KU, 36v h-h /36v & diseqc actuators / diseqc -USALS motors / Anlg to HD Channel Masters C120s dishes, stb's inc echo3000, lnbs, meters, custom polar mounts & elevation/incline actuator conversions...
    BADR6 C BAND projected footprint = http://www.arabsat.com/ArabSat/Engli...BADR6Cband.htm

24 c Band TPs and there are 4 higher power TPs at + 3dBW = 33-36dBW (36-39dBW by 2nd diag) in UK if I have read it right..... 1.5m in central UK?

20 Ku Tps and the projected BADR6 Ku band footprint is shown (left menu) and looks like 7w or MBC's footprints on 26e so it's difficult to project what BADR6 will be like here, but most capacity that has already been contracted is for Africa /ME etc... (see NEWS & PRESS links) at top.
Mostly new HD TV / data & telephony

    MBC2 HD anyone..?

    Existing 26.2e BADR C BAND moving to 30.5e 080808

Arabsat's site has a news flash that the existing digi C Band is all moving to 30.5e as an FTA package on 080808 (nice date)... arr, and shows you how to modify a linear C band LNBf to circular polarization! bless em.

    need a much bigger dish... like 7w H's ....hhmmmm......1.8...2.4...3m..

Maybe this BADR6 thing will not be too good for UK.. already we have bad test signals on KU for UK.... then there is out of order BADR5 to come.... OH b#gger..

hi all i picked up the 4 analogue channels on badr 6 they are very weak on 1.2mtr dish so you have to use low threshhold.
