WinZip

At one time the free evaluation version never expired but now it does actually expire after the 45 days it seems.

My mate doesnt seem to have this problem and his version never seems to expire. I must be doing something wrong. Is there a way I can get winzip without it expiring and becoming unusable?

I installed izark yesterday, as its free and doesn't expire. Seems to do the job ok.

7-zip is another popular free utility, which uncompresses a number of formats including winzip and winrar.

Another free one is XAce Plus. Opens all types of files as well zip ones. The old Winzip was free, but the latest one dies after 45 days as you said.
