My System: 75e-75w C & KU, 36v h-h /36v & diseqc actuators / diseqc -USALS motors / Anlg to HD Channel Masters C120s dishes, stb's inc echo3000, lnbs, meters, custom polar mounts & elevation/incline actuator conversions...

    Running cables underground

Doesn't come up much this one, but we have the opportunity to lay some cable/s underground before a new patio is laid.. (satellite/ 36v etc..)

any issues, tips etc.. ... we can lay it in metal pipe or plastic, wrapped (or nothing) ... deep or shallow... and keep them separate (sat/ 36v) ..... any known issues signal wise... anyone?

don't think there is anything like cable in the ground etc.. but you never know..

    cheers

Something like narrow bore plastic drainpipe would be ideal.

Try to get a slight slope on the pipe run, or you run the danger of it becoming a sump and filling up with water! (Although Ive had cables running in plastic pipe under a gateway between our garden & next door for a few years now with no obvious ill effects even in last years very wet "summer")

Leave yourself easy access at both ends - I made that mistake!

Why don't you just use direct burial wf100 ?, its about a quid a metre for short runs, and you could use armoured cable for the 36V.

You should also use a special cable for RF signals like DG163

Run at least two cables of both signal and shielded wire, just in case you employ a friendly traveller with shovel to do the work.
