    My System: Sky Box

    Please Help, is motor knackered???

    Hi

I eventually got my sat system to pick up a couple of sats. I'm delighted.

But my motor seems to be very intermitent. Most times it doesn't move at all. At the moment its moving one incriment and moving straight back one.

    Any way

    1. I have no limits set.
    2. Nothing is in the way
    3. Ive tried 2 boxs.

I think myself it must be bunched. Any one recommend a new one.

The one im using at the moment is the one that comes bundled with the fortec star 90cm pack from maplin.

Is it true that this is a rebadged Moteck SG2100A.

If thats the case Maybe I should stay away from that particular motor????

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.
What type of cable are you using? It can cause problems if it is not of sufficient quality.

Is the motor the Fortecstar turner?

    What receivers are you using?

The Moteck SG-2100 is a very reliable motor and I've installed a couple of Fortecstar turners without problems, so may just be an unlucky duff motor.

Didn't relize the cable could cause problems. Im using tv coax to be honest, but I can pick up hundreds of stations.

Not sure about make of motor, no name on it.

    Its a maplin special.

If it is standard TV coax, then that is probably the cause of the problem.

I don't that it is. I have installed a few of those kits too and externally there are diferences to both the Motecks and the TM2200/2300.

The internals may be very similar though.

Anyway, dodgy connections or coax will often cause problems with motors.

    Use wf100 or similar.
