More from Me. This morning I ran my Sly IT NDS3 card in the smargo using CCcam 2.1.0. My card is a 0002 'K' type.

Early indications are very good. I ran the card very slowly using the following line in CCcam.cfg.

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/usb/tts/0 3430000

I have yet to monitor CCcam in debug mode via telnet but what I can see so far is good. From inserting the card into the smargo it cleared a channel within a couple of seconds. My local ECM time was steady at 0.175 , so thats good. The temperature of the card was quite normal with no excessive heat to worry about, absolutley no signs of burn, although the test so far has totalled only about 15 minutes.

This test was simply to run the card for my own local use. I will now expand the test to share it and perhaps increase clock speed slowly. I'll report back further findings. At this time I have no need nor interest in trying the card in the internal reader. I would recommend against it for the price of a smargo.

I just get my new Sky Italy white k-type card and as I'm a bit afraid to burn the card i wants to confirm the settings first !
I have DM-800 with latest gemini 4.2 and smargo smartreader +and linux ubuntu server .
which combination is best option fo me and the card :
1- DM-800 and Smargo and CCcam 2.1.1 ( I dont like this setup as dm crashes from time to time )
2- Ubuntu server and Smargo and CCcam 2.1.1
3- whatever you say !

then its that the card is not active yet and i dont have the official receiver ! how do I activate the card !?
I read some where this process :
1- put dm on common interface
2- put dm on a Sky channels
3- insert the card
4- telnet and run newcs
5- frm BP run CCcam 2.1.1
6- have a bear and wait
is this ok or i should I just put it in smargo with dm or ubuntu and wait !?

please any who has the experience help me set it up sooner !

I have an irritating issue: With CCCAM and NEWCS I do have a picture, but the entitlements don't get updated... (Blue Sky card)

Hi, welcome to the board. You might want to introduce yourself to the rest of the community... I have no direct experience with SlY DE but if it's a card similar to the new white SlY UK card than you will need MGcamd + NewCS . There are many posts on this issue, just follow the thread containing word "0963"

@Wildbit, thanks for the welcome.
The issue I have is with the old S|Y UK card. I did not receive the white one yet.
I have been running Newcamd with NewCS in the past without any problems, but made the move to CCCAM to keep other cards working as well: running S|Y DE without any problem because its Betacrypt, Cana*dig NL on SECA2+ and AR*NA DE via Cryptoworks.
(The Cryptoworks also refuses the updates, but that's less bothersome as S|Y UK: for Crypto I have a Cam to update the card, for S|Y UK I have to set up a seperate dish without diseq, install the original receiver and wait.....)

This seems to be an issue of NewCS/CCcam - no entitlement updates on my system as well, neither blue nor white card. Run mgcamd as client and entitlements will update.

djremmit, Welcome to the fight..

Are you hosting the card in NewCS or direct in CCcam. If its in NewCS, there's no need for it. Use CCcam direct for that card and it should be just fine.

I use cccam 2.1.0 on blue and my entitlements are at end of december now it updates consistently unlike the white card.

If you've activated the white card on the same account, your blue card will surely be killed if you allow emms to reach it

I have had white card used for about a month now with my blue card in the dreambox, white card still in my Sky box. I have EMM's getting through aswell and the entitlements are December now.

The old card is only killed when the sly box phones home to acknowledge the new white card has been inserted.

I would guess most regulars on this forum don't have the phone line connected.

Surely Ѕky will stop send updates to the old blue card at some point?

Hi,

Currently I have my new white card in my $ky hd box. It works. It upgraded to the new card no probs. NB I dont have the phone line connected and I dont have too.. My subscription is an "unsubsidised" and I have no obligation to have the telephone line connected.

I left my old blue card in the dm800 and it continues to get updates. Right now I am good upto december.

I am just hoping to keep on going until there is a nice and easy white card solution that takes care of the updates etc... I currently use cccam.

yup, that explains it... the tech had to get a call back to get the white card activated for some reason

Hey there,

I've succesfully followed the most of the forum here and managed to get my DM800 up and running with a Via***t nds card.
But unfortunably the HD channels aren't working.
Using Gemini 4,5 and CCcam 2.1.3 and got the normal channels running.

Here's my addings to CCcam.cfg

SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+                                     
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/0 6860002

Which I get a picture and a good result with - But not the HD channels.
When starting CCcam - It looks good, but it's not possible to get HD working???

Log Removed.

Does anyone have the rigth settings or isn't it possible to makje HD run yet.
Many have shown pictures on the net - but not the solution.

Judging by the config sample you have quoted you have not specified a boxkey, I've no idea whether this card needs one or not but as the other popular NDS3 card currently in use DO require one, I'd be very tempted to generate one and add it to the config.

As far as I can tell - The boxid isn't nessecary as I have 2 different cards to try with - and both are just running fine on the normal channels - but no HDchannels - eventhough there's been several postings about succes with this.

So I haven't tried it - but doubt the problem are there !
as they are running fine on normal channels are running fine and CCcam are making the BoxID itself:

You miss the point. The premium / HD channels can sometimes require the boxkey. The boxkey CCcam creates is random and is not correct. For the time it takes to create and try a boxkey , just do it then we know for sure if its needed or not. Also I would suggest using CCcam 2.1.3.

Well It doesn't help.
I added the boxkey in CCcam.cfg - buit still making the same "random" boxID as before adding it ? So nope didn't help and no pictures on HD channels

Well - I've added the BoxID - But when running CCcam - uit still makes a random Boxkey - and NOT the one I've added ?

The line is:
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 80 BF XX XX

But CCcam-2.1.3 -d shows this:
08:29:14.558 CCcam: nds card found
08:29:15.580 CCcam: nds: using boxkey 0CDFE72A

In CCcam it set with these params as shown above
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 80 BF XX XX

Is this Correct or is there another problem somewhere ?

I see you have a smargo setup , and you've set quite a high clock speed and one that is not supported (6.36mhz).
Although I think the smargo will just switch to the nearest supported setting. (6.00 or 6.86 ).

However more importantly the boxkey you have entered you have assigned to the internal reader and not the smargo.

Where is the card , is it in the internal or the smargo ?

Its a Smargo - I don't have any cards in the internal reader - only Smargo!
