Hi Andel
Sorry I didn't see your post, I've been updating in the previous post. I renamed Newcs.xml then rebooted with the common interface as default. When all was running I renamed the newcs.xml to it's proper name, then I used the code ./newcs_1.67.pcsc -c /var/tuxbox/config/newcs.xml. This got things going. I then started Cccam 1.1.2. With the card in the omnikey I had to change the Port in the Cccam to reflect this ie port 12002. The omnikey is now working fine. Thanks to everyone who helped, I would not have done it without you. You can guess from my posts that I am a complete amateur.

anyone had any success with a polsat card in the omnikey?
boxkey & rsa are in the xml its working on dev/sci0 but is freezing every 40-60 secs no matter what freq or write delay used
in the mpcs config it says [cs357x] = port number, i take it this means clock speed 357 xtal?
as the omnikey uses the iso standard to get the vcc freq etc i was thinking it might be an issue there?
the card is detected in newcs info but no caid is shown mpcs should sort that but no luck
using cccam/mpcs/pcsc/newcs in one pack
cccam is 2.0.4 newcs is 1.67 mpcs and pcsc are the latest/only versions
any info on polsat with an omnikey is appreciated
sorry for thread hijack
thought this thread the best place

hi m8
yeh it shows 1803 on the internal no probs
just dont get the caid in newcs info in the o/key
mpcs seems to be working fine internal its just the transition to an o/key has stumbled it somehow
thats why i wondered if the [cs375x] needed changing to something omnikey related

strange... similar behaviour of the white sly card in the smargo reader. It all looks good but no caid. The problem was the reader of course
I have a problem with newcs... I have the omnikey installed and recognised, and setup in newcs, but when I try to launch newcs it shows the following, but stops at 'process id is...' so it doesnt get as far as setting up the httpd interface.
This is NewCS 1.67 RC1 [Build: 95] - the New CardServer by the Butter-team..
Compiled on Jul 14 2009 at 11:57:27
Reading Config file from /var/tuxbox/config/newcs.xml

ignore that - I used the xml and cfg generator, and added in the section for the omnikey and now it works...
I have 1 last problem now, and that is getting it to auto start when the dreambox reboots. I am using nabilosat blackhole, and I have setup a camscript, but when I run it neither newcs or cccam start. Here is the script, what have I done wrong? Otherwise what do I edit to force it to run this on boot?
#!/bin/sh
CAMNAME="NewCs_1.67/CCcam_2.1.2"
remove_tmp () {
rm -rf /tmp/*.info* /tmp/*.tmp*
}
case "$1" in
start)
echo "[SCRIPT] $1: $CAMNAME"
remove_tmp
/usr/bin/newcs_167 &
sleep 10
/usr/bin/CCcam_212 &
;;
stop)
echo "[SCRIPT] $1: $CAMNAME"
killall -9 newcs_167 CCcam_212 2>/dev/null
sleep 1
remove_tmp
;;
*)
$0 stop
exit 0
;;
esac
exit 0

I've been investigating nabilo cam scripts because there does seem to be something a little strange. I too have had the same problem where the emu's don't seem to respond to the script when started from the blue panel. As I moved to a ubuntu pc my research has fell off if I'm honest but I would like to know properly how the cam scripts work in Nabilo. Please do report back if you work it out, as will I of course.

Hi all,
the card is still working in the omnikey, however the picture is not very stable, do you think it's the omnikey or is there another cause? Sometimes I have to take the card out and replace it because the picture freezes, any ideas why. I haven't seen anybody else with similar symptoms so I'm guessing it's something I have done or not .
Regards
Hi all, got the reader today. Had it running in less than an hour and I think just in time because when I took the card out of the internal reader, IT WAS VERY WARM. The ps3 fan helps but it doesn't solve the problem... anyway as mentioned it's been running for a couple of hours and I have had no problems at all so far.
Just follow the simple procedure outlined by B16MCC at the start of this thread! Also, changing the frequency setting in newcs should not have any effect (omnikey reader) if it truly follows the ISO standard, gets it directly from the card.

hi guys,
has anybody set up 2 omnikey readers on the one box?
i followed this guide and got my first omnikey set up and working with a white irish sly card. i then got a uk FTA card (for c4hd) and it works on my server dm800 no probs via the same omnikey reader.
so i bought a second omnikey and now, here's where the problems start! on my server dm800, i am watching a channel cleared via my irish card and all is fine. i then change to c4hd, slight pause and it works fine. i have 2 n-lines in my cccam.cfg each with the different ports for each omnikey. i then have one c-line for a client box in a different room in the house. if im watching a channel cleared by the irish card on one box, and a channel cleared by the uk card in the other box, then they both start to freeze up. if i put them both on a channel cleared by the same card its all fine.
it seems that the server box cant cope with the 2 omnikeys for some reason... is there any thing i can do to make both cards work without freezing?
sorry this is a bit long winded!!
cheers
adam
hey, just wondering does anybody tried to setup omnikey 3111 serial reader with dreambox 500s yet? i cant use usb card reader
or any other serial card reader to read new white sly card?
Now that MgCamd has entered the equation, are there any differences in the newcs?
Regards
Do all omnikeyreaders work on the DM? Or just the 3121?
I saw cheaper omnikey readers

moeliekpie, Try using an N line in the other box. Don't use C / F lines.
woodseaves, NO
satter, Not tested any. I don't see why a serial reader wouldn't work though.

Hi again,
I'm in the 'I've tried everything club' to get the omnikey working. Before MGCamd I had it working, then I switched to nwecs_1.62/MGCamd_1.30d - this works perfectly in the top slot of the DM7025. Should I use the same newcs.xml with the omnikey device included or to get the omnikey to work should it have its own newcs.xml. I want the omnikey to run the same as the top slot of the DM. Is this possible? I notice that the Newcs.xml is different with MGCamd, no boxkey etc. I know I have asked this before but if I follow this thread to the letter will it work. I have tried it with just the omnikey in the newcs.xml, I get to the point where it says ready to go, in the web interface I see the newcs and 1 MgC client but no entitlements. Does anyone spot any ommissions or additions?
Any help, as usual, gtatefully accepted
Regards
Sounds like you need to re-read the thread. B16MCC has already answered this in several occasions but here you go:
"These readers WILL NOT WORK with the NewCS that you install from your images addon panel. You must use the file named newcs.mips.pcsc",.
Furthermore, the newcs.xml file is where the port and device are defined,in this case it needs to point to the external device type PCSC and the first reader will be dev 0, then dev 1 and so on...
Thanks for that wildbit but i have done all that what has been published in the thread, if you notice in my post I say that I had it working before McGcam was introduced into the argument. I have spent hours and hours reading this thread and trying many combinations so as to avoid troubling anyone with a request for help. Ah well!
I've just noticed from your reply that I should be inserting 'dev 0', that's were I'm going wrong, I did what B16MCC told us and put 'node 0'. Stupid me

Assuming that I have done all that the thread teaches us my simple questions are as follows:
If I want to use the omnikey do I have to have a newcs with the omnikey as the only device? (I'm aware of newcs_1.67.pcsc)
When I run newcs_1.67.pcsc what should be selected via the blue button, can it be newcs_1.62/MgCamd_1.3?
that's enough for now
regards
woodseaves, this is how it should look
name>USB</name>
<type>pcsc</type>
<mhz>368</mhz>
<node>0</node>
the node would change from 0 to 1 on your second reader and so on...
The binary file "news.mips.pcsc" is part of the full newcs 1.67RC1 package and when running can only interface with pcsc devices. Usually I make a copy of the running newcs (/usr/bin), rename it. copy the pcsc file in the same dir and rename it to original name. restart newcs and emu
forgot the obvious:
STOP newcs before making changes
chmod 755 after copy of newcs.mips.pcsc

i have 6 omnikeys running now + 1 infinity usb smart
with viaccess, nds2 , nds3 all running fine
u sure u haven't got a port conflict?
also what hub are you using ?
i believe some hubs can be a problem
when ur watching c4hd on both boxes ur only using 1 of the cards thats why its not glitching only 2 control words from 1 card is being requested.

woodseaves you're getting a little confused it seems mate.
You need to use NewCS with pcsc support. This means you cannot use the ones installed from your addons panel.
Therefore it means you have to install it manually.
Then that means you have to start it manually via telnet as it will not appear in your cam list in your blue panel because it doesn't have an appropriate cam script installed because you haven't written one.
If you start the selected cam from your blue panel, for example, NewCS 1.62 / MGcamd 1.30 then thats exactly what you'll get. NewCS 1.62 is of no use to you what so ever because it will not read your card at all and more so it will not run your external reader.
Use NewCS1.67 with pcsc support and start it via telnet. Then start MGCamd alone from the blue panel.
As wildbit as mentioned the address of the reader in your newcs.xml is as follows
<node>0</node>
It is not
<node>node 0</node>
or
<node>dev 0</node>

thanks Roaaul i understand why its glitching, so its more frustrating when i cant stop it!! busy weekend coming up i reckon trying to sort this!
thanks
