@ compofunk

hi compufunk, can i ask you one last question re my problem pls?
when you do a back up os an image will it save everything? for ex. the cam settings (specially if you are sh...!)
if i do a back up from my 600 and i flash my 500 and install the same image (gemini 4.0) as the 600 back up on it (500) will it work?
thks

I've never checked that so cant be sure. You'll just have to check the backup file before flashing the DM500.

Also, as mentioned earlier. You could open up CCcam.cfg in TuxCommander and note down the settings before flashing.

I wouldn't even attempt that (If I understand what your saying correctly), you're likely to have a very messy image on your hands even if it did work.

Just use dreambox edit to load the channel settings from your DM600 to the DM500 after flashing.

I didnt want to hijack the other thread, so I'll respond here.

The backup method described here...http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...ox-backup.html
is not suitable in your case. This backs up the whole image (everything in flash memory), meaning that if its restored, the restored image will be a Gemini image in your case and you'll still be stuck with a password you dont know.

Also, the resulting backup file is not easily read. So it will be hard to read/restore your config file(s).

hi compufunk

so if i will flash the 500
copy the mg.cfg and newcam.list from my 6oo (as they are both using c... sh... from the same owner)
install a new image on 500 (for ex. nabilo)
then i copy the mg.cfg and newcamd.list on the new image i think this should work waht do you think pls?
thks

Yes that will be fine. Just make 100% sure that you are in fact running MGcamd on your box.

To make sure. Press the blue button on your remote and post a screen grab here.

If it says Auto-Camd setup as in the attached image. Press OK then take another screen grab. Cannot FTP to my 500 with DCC STRANGE!!!!-osdshot-png

You'll just have to install MGcamd from the plugins menu on the Nabilo image, then set it as your default emulator.

I have to admit that I have not come across iWatch before. A quick google of iWatch along with some satellite terms turns up nothing.

The person who set the thing up may have renamed the cam in use to try to throw you off the cent. If so its going to be a case of going through the config files and trying to find one that has some info you can go on.

You could also check the log files in /tmp to see if there are any clues there.

Checking the default web info ports will probably be of little use here.

It may be something to do with this _http://iwatch.sourceforge.net/index.html, but I doubt it.

What package are you receiving through card sharing? Is it Belgian by any chance?

mgstat.info
mmi.socket

Yes it looks like MGcammd is being used.

Have you had a look at the contents of ../keys/mg_cf?

If so, what in it? (remember to disguise any URLs and passwords etc before posting)

hi compufunk
i attached a copy of the keys folder but the problem is that when i go in the mg_cfg from the tuxcomander it's empty.
i think when you go in from tux it will not let you see the scrip or what you call it info!!
you have to go in from ftp to see the info but if you remember well my 500 won't let me log in, even if i changed the passwd for thousand times now!!!
with the 600 i can go in from ftp and see everything but i don't think that i am using same servers as the 600 doesn't flikker at all the picture but the 500 yes!!
what do you think?
i was thinking to flash everything and after i install the new image on the 500, i download the mg camd like you said then i copy the mg_cfg folder i have on the 600 to the 500 am i correct ?

thks again

I dont think that would be a good idea. You'd end up using the same credentials to connect to 1 server. I dont know if this is a problem with MGcamd but it doesn't work well in CCcam.

If you are paying for the share on the DM500 and experiencing flickering, I would dump them and give no more money.

Why not ask whoever set the thing up to give you the details you need for FTP etc?

Sorry cesco, but I've run out of ideas on this one. Its hard to tell you what to do when I dont have access to the box.

Good Luck.

then i set all communication setup and everything from scratch
installed mgcamd from scratch
tried ftp from pc it worked immediately!!!!!
i copied my mg.cfg files and newcam.list from my 600 to my 500
and everything is working smoothly
shall i leave it with gemini 4.0 or shall i put nabilo darksat II as i heard it's better for 500 clones?
