DB won't boot with network cable connected

Anyone suggest any reason for this weird behaviour?

With cable connected, DB hangs after displaying image name, ie near end of load, like it's trying to find something off the network.

I know, it sounds like a firewall problem, but after unplugging the cable and booting successfully, I reconnect the LAN and can download cams, keys etc no problem. Can also manage the box via Flashwizard and transfer images to the box and back it up.

I did try disabling the firewall but made no difference.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

It could be worth trying a different network cable.

Happened here a few times, Download another copy of the image and reflash again. Sometimes the images get damaged/corrupted on download.

    OK, thanks for the suggestions.

I can't see how it can be the network cable as it works fine for uploading/downloading once it has booted, also this situation has only happened since I moved to 1.09.

I had done a fresh start anyway by loading the official 1.09 image via serial only and while I agree that image could be a bit iffy, that wouldn't explain why I get the same problem if I select the option to load the Hydra image on boot, which also hangs.

If the cable is unplugged I can load from either image all day without a hitch.
I suppose it could still be a corrupt basic 1.09 as parts of this affect the load off USB (I think).

It would be nice if there was some way to completely erase the ram and start again with a another downed official 1.09 but I don't know of any way to do that, maybe you guys do.

At least since moving to 1.09 my postioner works, you may remember my endless problems where it wouldn't work under 1.08 and I was stuck with 1.07 and trying to run 1.08 Hydra etc from the USB.

    Thanks again

    Hi Wobbler

I've got the same problem since moving to 1.09 also. I've got the genuine 1.09 in flash and a variety of images on usb using flashwizard. Tried reloads etc but still the same. I just live with it and disconnect from network if I have to reboot as everything else works fine. BTW give sdt image a try if you havn't very stable and imho much better than hydra.

Thanks Fred, nice to know I'm not alone!
Yes, I can live with it too if I have to, it's not the end of the world.

Haven't really tried any other images, I'll give that one a whirl, thanks for the tip.

Just to add that i was having loads of problems with the 109 at the start.
Reason was there was 2 versions of 109 and I got hand of the latest one and put it in along with a few versions of multiboot images and they all work great in it. No problems with any of them now after a few months.

    Hi John

Have you the factory dream 109 in flash?. I might replace it and see if that fixes the bootup network problem.

    Cheers

No its just named rel_109. Get the very latest one.
Are you using multiboot images, i know it might sound stupid but I was using ordinary 109 images in usb. They worked but the multiboot ones worked better. They are bigger in size as well.
