Activate Keys into dreambox

Hi !

I have a problem, when I transfer keys to dreambox i do not know how to activate them, can somebody help me?

You need to use an emu (cam) e.g. evocamd.

To summarise:

1. Install the emu you want to use e.g. evocamd
2. Set your default emu to evocamd
3. Upload latest keys.
4. restart evocamd

That's pretty much all there is to it.

You REALLY need to read the idiots guide - its got a load of useful stuff in it.- and covers most of the questions you will have.

Hello Again Akx201,

This is the simple method. Please follow it carefully :-

(1) Unzip the attached. You will find a folder 'var'. Inside that folder you will find 'bin', 'etc' and 'keys' folders.

(2) Ftp the all the contents of the 3 folders to the corresponding folders in your dreambox. In the bin folder, right click at the files pcamd and camd3 and change attributes to 755.

(3) Ftp the latest key file camd3.keys (I assume you have) to the keys folder.

(4) Reboot the dreambox and enjoy the picture !

(5) When you have time, read the Ideots' Guide as suggested by others above.

Note :- No keys in the keys folder. Also, only some encrypted channels can be opened by camd3.

Ohh... Thank you pcd i will try this. Can i put keylist.txt in the keys folder?, and will i not activate the keys or will they do it automatically whne i reboot the dreambox?

Do you not read carefully ?

You need camd3.keys for my steps to work. And no keys on this Board !

no need to reboot, just restart the emu.

Your question suggests you've not read The Guide.

For example, if you download satan keys, all the files in /keys go inot var keys; all files from /scce into var/scce

Next time around only upload the newer files (than on the Dreambox).

Ok mhku, the problem is that I don´t understand really what the says in the guide. The main problem is that when i transfer keys i can´t activate them but i don´t even know if i have transfered them or not, and i have tried with this in about 2 years but never succedeed. And i want you or anyone else just to show me exactly step by step how to do in detail. Ex: which file i will put in which map and so on.

There are 3 stages:

1. Install and setup evocamd (or any emu). Assumes your Dreambox has internet connection.
2. Get the keys onto your Dreambox.
3. Restart emu (not needed for CCcam)


1. Install emu

Goto blue button > addons
download and install > cam > evocamd
(download and install > cam-config> MgCamd if you use MgCamd)

then

blue button > auto cam setup

set the default cam to evocamd

Download the satankeybundle and unzip it to a folder. Then unzip the …tar.gz - file and you get an folder named “satan.tar”, inside to folders named “Keys” and “Scce”.
Use an ftp-program or DCC or Total Commander and copy/move these to folders(keys + scce) into the “Var” folder.
That ‘s all! Reboot your Dbox and it will run for you.
All emu will work(Camd3, Newcamd, MGcamd or CCcam).


It’s possible to move the tar.gz-file into the folder into Var/Temp and then manuell install over the blue panel så will it work too, but that’s not possible for all IMG’s.

I hope that will be some help for you.

I use FileZilla to FTP the keys to my Dreambox. Read the "How to use CuteFTP" guide if you need more details.

3. Go to blue button > restart cam


Please try these steps. You can't break the Dreambox so try what you think might work.

I haven't outlined every single step but these are most of them and are enough to get it working. Try Premiere One on 19.2 as your test channel.

If it doesn't work, tell us exactly what you did/ didn't do and we'll try to help.

NB. If your Dreambox doesn't have an internet connection, get the .tar.bz evocamd file from i-have-a-dreambox.com > database

aha ok, but when i press it, it doesn´t make sense. What is so peculiar whit the blue button. And i´m sure i need a special software for this, i have emu_beta105_5[1].5+gbox+keyupdate-Traveller-20030622. do i not need a special one then?

First principles here - which image are you using on your dreambox, (Gemini, Nabilosat, Enigma, etc)??

I have one called emu_beta it´s from 2003, but which image do you have? I can put images into dreambox it´s not a big problem, but i want you to tell me which one you have so I can put and try to fix the "key problem"

Gemini or Nabilosat are my favourites. Emu_beta is NOT a dreambox image as far as I know - I think its a plugin for an image.

Aha allright, but i can put keys into this image manually and it takes a very long time and it works, but automatically doesn´t works at all.

You are right - Traveller is an (absolutely ancient) image - which seems to have been dropped years ago!

Any particular reason why you have stayed with something so sadly out of date??

Download latest Gemini or Nabilosat

Install from the computer(it is a nfi file, use web to install)

Make all settings back to normal after install I.E. box ip and mac

search for sat (multi if U have a diseq) and then reload the keys

You can find what U need on the net(use the box)

no it´s not that, i did have gemini, but it didn´t worked to transfer keys, so i changed it to emu_beta. I don´t know if it didn´t worked, but i couldn´t transfer keys, and i still can´t do it. :/.

2. Upload keys using a CAT5 cable to connect your Dreambox to your router.
