Llew mate,
And as you probably know the separation was a success!!!!,can't wait for the pictures from Titan, think it's in about 2 weeks. Can you imagine seeing a view of mountains, clouds and liquid oceans (although they are made from lighter fluid!!)on another world!!!.Blows yer mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards DaDragon.
Its a European probe - Its signals are relayed by a NASA probe
Then theres software that should been programmed accordingly for the various flybys and that of Saturns forces (seven years ago), as well as having the right distance dimensions (ft vs metres )incorporated in the drop trajectory. All of which take into account the revised time coordinates the probe has encountered in the journey away from the Sun.
If it happens as it was planned a decade ago it will be something to rejoyce in.
Then theres the different focusing techniques required for the different gaseous atmosphere , lighting, pressures, temperatures and gravitational effects that are on this moon of Saturn.
I am really hoping for success, I do however believe what we are about to receive is a very small glimpse of what is actually there.
As for life, its on another planet, but not as we know it , Jim

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
The touchdown is being shown live on the BBC at 11.30pm this Friday 14th Jan.Live as in as live as you can get coming from Titan, some 50 minute delay i think!
Regards DaDragon.

I think its being shown live on ESA TV on 19E as well.
Might even keep the kids off school to watch it. Doubt the school even know what it is.![]()

I can't write either...
Won't it be dark then?![]()

around 9pm friday i think it will be..
"A Wise Man can see more from the bottom of a well than a Fool can see from the top of a mountain."

10832H on 19E is now showing the ESA tescardTransmission starts 14th jan 0800 GMT

If the atmosphere is lighter fluid wouln't it be nice to, eh say ehmmm throw a match and see what happens???

If theres no free oxygen, b*gger all will happen though........
Just so that you know ESA is starting a new satellite channel on Astra 19.2E on Friday(according to Digital Satellite Choice Magazine), obviously using the probe as a launch platform for the channel. Its supposed to cover press conferences, etc before the approach and then show it live!
I'll have a look for the xponder info in a bit and then edit this post, unless someone beats me to it.

I think its going to be 12552V on 19E. Its the old Astravision 2 channel - was showing the esa t/c last night (10832 is being discontinued)

So lets send there some bacteria who will create oxygen and then torch it??Originally Posted by Analoguesat

Do you have full info on this channel showing esa testcard? frequency,polarity,sr,fec.etc.
Regards DaDragon.
It will be on BBC 2 at 11.30pm Fri 14/01/05, have already set my phone calendar to remind me!
