Have they stopped prosecuting landlords who show foreign football? I have been told there is an amnesty until the court case is over. Has there been a decision yet.
been told that they wont procecute pubs while this case is on & they wont prosecute any pub they catch now. so they will not back date the prosecution. This cant be wright if it is why dont all the pubs take it out & waite untill the case is sorted one way or the other. Have i been told a load of rubbish by my local
I think they are still prosecuting if you are caught showing 3pm games though and if you are using non EU cards-i.e art, digitalb etc
From what i believe they are not prosecuting anyone showing the normal kick-offs if they are using an official 'eu' card and reciever, until the outcome of the ongoing 'murphy case'....that is.
thats what i thought mate.
the sad thing now days in UK even if you have a good dump in a bushes you get done,i think we better be "MPs" so we safe

Still procescuting: berrowsjournal.co.uk/news/4515365.Pub_in_dock_for_foreign_footy_channel/
“You were then given two letters, one from the Media Protection Service which recommended taking independent legal advice and one from DigitAlb which explained it was illegal to broadcast their channel outside of Albania.
What is this Karen Murphy hoping for?
The EU free trade rule can allow importing of overseas cards and receivers for private use as a maximum, but in no way a commercial use can be authorised.
What has the european free space to do with using a private contract on commercial premises?
Surely those european providers state in their contracts that the subscription is for personal use only.
Pub owners it´s time to follow the rules as every other company in the UK.
so it is illegal to show any football in a pub, with a card from a foriegn subscrption.

Isn't this one of the issues being tested in Court?
Court cases have other purposes than simply satisfying (or not!) a Plaintiff - they are frequently attempts to gain clarification and set precedent. The interpretation of Law, particularly Civil Law, is often very murky indeed.
What may seem obvious and clear cut to thee and me may turn out not to be so cut and dried after all.
Even Criminal Law, which tends to be more prescriptive, is not immune from interpretation and Cases often hinge upon "What their Lordships really had in mind".
Do we know how long it will be before there is an outcome in this particular Case?

what would happen if the club had a cardshring sytem set up. would the fine be worse, as they not paying any tv company.
No fine, go straight to jail.
"THE first person in the country to be prosecuted for using sophisticated technology to illegally access Sky channels has been jailed for four months.
Keith Cairns, 45, from Croxteth not only sold unauthorised decoder boxes but also charged his customers a monthly subscription fee - and if they did not pay they would be cut off.
Miles Bennett, prosecuting, told Liverpool crown court that Cairns had been selling the unauthorised decoder boxes which contained software enabling the user to access Sky channels without having a decoder card and by using the internet."

bloody better tell them to take it out, they are paying someone£150 a month.

Not quite, I believe from the report, the commission was a fiver a month, (plus the equipment costs) with the remainder going up the pyramid.
Feel free to correct me.
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
And if a pub shows FTA football from abroad (like the Championship matches on Sportklub Poland today) then would that still be considered illegal? No cards required...
