My System: Sky+ TM1000D 1m Orbital Motorised Dish Echostar 3000

    7west verticals

    Hi guys,

I am struggling to get a picture on the 7west vertical tp's.

    I have a 1m Oribital dish, 0.2db LNB and a TM1000D.

I get perfect sound but the picture is blocky, I am about 1/2% off getting a picture.

Do you guys recommend me taking it off the motor and fixing it up statically? What can I do to try and get the extra couple of %?

    I am using CT125 cable.

    Cheers.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.
A better idea of your location would help.

That said, a 1m Dish is a bit small.

My 1.1m gets a few (sometimes) but I think the consensus is 1.2m.

Sorry, I am in the Midlands.

The dish is on a SG2100 diseqc motor at the moment, I was thinking of taking it off that and aligning it on my Horizon motor.

Not sure a 1m Orbital would be reliable enough for 7W verticals. By aligning it as a fixed dish, it's possible you may get a slight improvement, especially if your off arc a fraction.

I'm glad you agree about Dish size, old friend!

Remounting the 1m dish is going to be a frustrating waste of time, I fear.

I stuggled to get 7W verticals with an Orbital 1m here in Kent. 11862V was easy to get but the others eg 11938V were breaking up.

Get an Inverto Black Ultra LNB. Should be around Ģ15. I haven't seen another LNB that will improve C/N as much as this. (Robbo recomends another Inverto LNB for twin setups but I can't remember which.) More info.

The only way you are going to get the Verticals off 7w in the Midlands is to buy a bigger dish, end of story

The only time i have ever managed to get anything watchable off 7w on my old 1m Orbital was at about 3am in the morning on a crystal clear night and that was it

I have played with a 1.5m at a friends house and 7w verticals were an easy catch. On a clear day even some of the horizontals were possible too

It doesn't matter what lnb you use on the 1m as the dish is simply too small for 7w in your location

I like work, It fascinates me! I can sit and look at it for hours
