Hi guys,
I just plugged in my new (and activated) NOVA card (irdeto card) but the channels I was supposed to be able to watch are still encrypted...
I'm using a Matrix Reloaded Cam (S/W MR 1.04, H/W 1.5, Loader 1.0).
Should the card work straight away, or I actually have to change any settings on the MR CAM?
As far as I know, NOVA uses IRDETO 2 encryption. My card should be able to support this, correct?

You may need to leave the card in for a few minutes to update. The MR software version is now out of date, but it should AFAIK, work with the genuine card.

Just had a look in the MR menu, there is a section in the setup section which can turn irdeto EMU on or off. You may need to turn this off.
I tried that; no luck...
I'm not very familiar with the IRDETO encryption, but I think there are two versions, and that NOVA uses IRD 2.
Is there a chance that 1.04 doesn't support IRD 2?
It should do, but I'll need to do a bit of fishing to find out. When making any changes to the CAM menus, you will probably need to reset the receiver and possibly even pull the CAM out and replace to force a reinitialisation.
I have just reset the receiver, with all the possible combinations: with / without the CAM, with / without the card; no luck again...
What can I do to check if the CAM is actually working?
The only thing that I can think of right now is that the card has not been activated yet (even though I personally called them to activate the card, and they confirmed that the card is now activated...).

If you can see the cam details in the cam menu and it can see the card (you'll see it in the status section) then it probably is working.
Did you have the card in the receiver when you asked them to activate it?
I'm not sure if I had the card in, Rolfw. Does it make a difference?
I got today an IRDETO CAM card, but it's getting worse... The decoder most of the times does not initialise the cam, and when it does, as soon as I put in the card, the cam dissappears...
It seems that I actually have a problem with the Manhattan box, doen't it?
Being a newbie, I decided to get a Manhattan Plaza 3300 box, because it was cheap and relatively new (so I wouldn't have to do any updates). But now, I think I should have gone for a Humax (the one with the embeded Irdeto would actually be ideal for me...).
I anyone can give me some advice, I would really appreciate it!

You have to have the card in the cam for activation Arkadian, they only send out a relatively short signal. What Irdeto CAM did you get, has it got a serial number on it?
You may need to try it again in the Matrix reloaded, but also ring them again, as long as the CAM can see the card (shows the number), you have a fighting chance.
The Irdeto Cam has a P/N: 901275 X
and under the bar code: 11310241129471

The CAM doesn't show any number (I have attached a screenshot)...
Just a note to say that I called NOVA and they activated the card again...
No change, none of my CAMs work with the card...
Any ideas?...
Hmm, looks like the Matrix Reloaded sees the card, do you get the same with the Irdeto CAM? Could of course just be a faulty card.
The Irdeto CAM cannot see the NOVA card...
Don't really know what to suggest Arkadian, I would have thought that if the MR could see the card, then the Irdeto CAM should also see it.
If you have any trouble finding MR 1.055, don't worry just send me an E-Mail, as I downloaded it today.

Hi I have irdeto 2 card from Albaniasat and thats work very good with Matrix Reload
vers.1.055 and the nova card is the same it must work
On Saturday, I will take the box and the CAMs back to the shop where I bought them. The guy suggested that we try the card on his box to see if it works there. I will come back to you on Saturday evening with the results. I think that either the box or the card is faulty...
I also called the NOVA helpline again and they said that it is possible that the card is faulty and didn't get activated (?...) and they said I should return the card to a guy in Athens for further checks...
[you would expect that when you buy a card for 330 euros for 6 months, they would have at least bothered to double-check it before they pack it...]
I will come back on Saturday to give you further info.

Guys, how can I update the card Matrix Reloaded without buying any extra hardware?
I had a look at the the matrixcam site, but I got the impression that I should get specialised adaptors, and Smart Card writers...
I have a laptop (with the standard pcmcia card slot) and a PC with all the usual ports...
Any ideas / advice ???

I've just upgraded my Mr using my Win98se laptop and once it was setup it was easy. Go to This Thread at Toecutter\\\\\\\\'s Tutut has posted a how to upgrade your laptop thread with the relevant files and there are links to the 1.055 update as well.
simple....upgrade mr to version 1.80....original card nova..ok
