I'm finding it about the same speed Dig, will monitor it, may be the sidebar taking the time to load, which will be stored in cache once it has loaded for the first time, but of course this doesn't load on thread pages. .

I think that is purely due to the extra graphics as mentioned above, we will look at ways of speeding the loading up, but it should only be a problem on the initial page load, as they will then be in cache.

I 'm going to repeat a bit the feed-back of what some members have already sayed in this thread.

The feed-back from portuguese forum (and personally mine as well) is that the new forum looks great but is running slower , that is , there's a pause of seconds between the loading of the header banners and the rest of the site.

Im seeing the same - its definitely loading slower than the old look.

On our super fast work connection the top of the page banner loads, then wait a couple of seconds for the content to appear.

At home its dire - I can see the individual graphics blocks for the dark blue stuff up at the top of the page loading one at a time then waaaiiit for the content....! It normally appears eventually, although Im having to use F5 occasionally when the page doesnt load at all

Hi Chris - just to let you know - page load speeds are back to normal with the reverted skin here in Galashiels. Most peculiar.

Chris has had to go out, but I'm sure he can put it back as user selectable, but not default until the problem is sorted.

I'm having no problems at all with the new style using Firefox, but is a little slow on initial loading if I use IE. Having said that, I have 6Mb downstream speed, so almost anything loads quickly.
