very nice setup you have there.
what can you receive on cband in your location ?
also can you get astra 2d with that dish and i see the andrews feedhorn on the dish does that make a massive difference to the signal ?

for C band i get lots of stuff from south america via NSS806 40º W(about 120 channels many are FTA) also i get the jamaican feeds from 55ºW ,on atlantic bird 5ºW i can get kenya channel and few french african/polenisian channels..
yes,i do get astra 2D
BBC1 ,ITV and channels 4+1 (vertical)5AM to 10 PM
BBC2 , channel4 and Five (horizontal) 5AM to 4/6PM depending the day
all above from astra2d using Humax HDFOX from freesat (the best receiver ever for fringe reception)
TTon4 and ITV (vertical) from astra 2A 24/7 ..using freeview card on Linux box
i also get some canal+ from Thor 1ºW and the african beam from Multichoice south africa on seasat 36ºE,further to 68ºE i get a funny african package transmiting some helarious african channels from republique of congo for example ,watching those channels just make you wonder if we are realy in 2008 !!..LOL
and yes!! channel master feedhorn is the best thing i could use with Gibertini dish..simply fantastic..
i hope i answerd your query..best regards![]()

from Eutelsat W4 -36º i get the african beam (please see the footprint pictures below)
regarding 68º ,i get the europe and african beam so no much of multichoice there ,in C band also i get some stuff pakistani and indian channels but comes quite weak as many channels are missing ,by the way i am using a Vantage Blind scan X221 TSCI decoder for all my DX tests ..best regards

pipino, how's the situation at 23.5E ?
Do you get full Astra 1E ? What about Astra 3A ?

If i got you this means you still get all Astra 1E H BSS but you have not 24/7 reception of all 3A transponders, right ?

They're great pics, love the sunshine.
Can I fit those C-band LNBs to a CM 1.2m, I do have a multi feed bracket. What do you think?
Is one LNB horizontal and the other is vertical?
Can you do C-band on a 1.2m dish?
Excuse my C-band ignorance.
Love the pics. Do you have pics of the diseqc switching plus how things look inside.
Well done.
Regards JD Belgium.
glad you like the pictures, regarding fitting multi LNB on CM 1.20 as you can see the Brackets will some how restrict the Arc line you should have in case you are using a motorized dish ,the best way i think for CM120 is to use a Chaparral C/KU band Corotor with an offset feedhorn adding to that for example a good Swedish microwave or astrotel WIDEBAND LNB for Ku band and a good Norsat DRO 8115 for C band LNB,but again you have to have a special receiver to control the polarotor and wideband switching(i´m using a Manhattan Plaza 550 for that),but as like your picture you will have trouble making a correct Arc scanning,, regarding the 2 C/band LNB in my pictures 1 is for Circular transmissions and the other for linear transmission
..best regards

Sorry for the dumb question, but your cband lnbs are off-centered, how do you move the dish accordingly to be able to get the sat you need for them?
divibi (30-01-2009)
yes ,but its weak at times depending the weather

I think Chit Chat is interested particular in 3895L. Is this that strong that your OP150 is sufficient pipino ?
This frequency is rather hard to lock in Germany and Italy on smaller dishes. For example here are the results of Bisui on his 3m close to Venezia: _http://www.digital-forum.it/showpost.php?p=980188&postcount=1688

its not strong ,like now i´v just checked and i cant get any locking but from time to time when i do a Sky scan and the weather is good i can get some african channels from kenya and nigeria in that position,i have the impression that their transmition is poor,by the way i´m using a very good sat receiver with a sensitive tuner(Vantage 221 TSCI)

Hi deepbluesky. A belated Happy New Year. I have used some online Italian to English translator so I could figure out what has been posted on that website. You must be multilingual if you can speak Italian besides Greek and German. Though not grammatically correct, I have understood. Below is the translation:
"Remaining West Intelsat 903 34.5 ° W improvements compared 3M can be seen especially sull'ostico transponder of Kenya 3895 L 8594 sr where you can have a "fairly" stable"
I am yet to come across anyone who has actually locked that frequency and is watching those African channels. I wonder why they are being beamed to that part of the globe in the first place?
divibi (30-01-2009)
Happy new year my friend, though 1 month too late, anyway. I am not at all multilingual just English, Greek and German. But had French in school long time ago, this helps me more or less to understand a bit of Italian and Spanish as well.
Well , the thread in the italian board is extremely long as you could see. I've just passed quickly the last pages and found at least the one report of bisui. Maybe there are also more but the problem still remains: Large dishes and quick guaranteed upstream speeds are needed to serve a stream on 24/7 basis.
I assume that some cable networks distribute these channels but where ? In Germany certainly none does.
Returning to pipino's installation i am quite amazed that a 1.50m is able to lock this frequency at all. Seems the signal is much stronger in (South)Western Europe.

Low elevation ? For bisui it's >20°, for pipino >30°, so this is not relevant in their location. This is just an issue for Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
