Thought I show a piccy of my 'main' PC! (TM 1500 & DVD recorder on desktop), pretty humdrum, but I hope you'll be impressed by the shelf dedicated to extensions and plugs..... 22 plugs (+ 3 more on l/h side), 25 in total.
Scares the missus to death....
Second PC in same bedroom less impressive, just a spare really.... another 2 PC's for the kids, 1 in my workshop and a laptop downstairs (No serial port, hence Apollo OTA), all networked.
Phoenix Apollo, Sky+ & DVD recorder downstairs.... and god forbid a 'Normal' 28" TV (not even widescreen!), My choice![]()

.... modded 1000's of psx, ps1, ps2, xbox's, but don't actually own one myself (can't get into them!, only ever played 2 games to the end, MDK & Quake II on PC!!!).
Compact being the ness', not the choice.... could do with a spare bedroom..... Eldest off to uni' this year, I've got plans for a new super computer/satellite room.
Nice set up Oily, with good clear view of the arc by the looks of it .
One thing though, and this is my own opinion, I would never put the top bracket that high up on a gable end wall. I've seen half a gable end pulled out in high winds with a 80cm dish mounted that high.

Ooops, well, its about time i claimed on my insurance
Thanks for the comments.Goes to the motor limit east,I can get to about 45w,it's then about an inch or two from the tiles

Sorry about that remark Oily, but the ex father in law had a cowboy put a 80cm dish up high on the middle of a gable end. He lived in Torquay, Devon half way up a hill. During one of their gales in the 90's lost over 9 rows of bricks. The more rows of bricks above the brackets the stronger the anchor. Hope that you do not have a problem. Not much worth looking at past 45* west anyhow.

Hi Yeshi
Do not forget that water softens the bricks and mortar. so the rawlbolts will pull out. Yyou might not have a big hole in the wall but your pole and dish will come crahing down onto your car.![]()
Well, finally I have had my dish installed and my card registered, so I am able to watch Czech telly. I have zone2 minidsh pointed to 19.2 and UPC subscription. So I want to thank everyone who was willing to answer my newbie questions.
Well now, only if I could get the dish on a motor…

Heres the latest version of my dish arrangement. Left to right
1m on 16E. This one was new.
(on the tyre) 80 cm on 19E (donated from a lad I work with)
80cm on 13E (came out of the local woods and had been badly bent)
80cm on 5E (donated - had been jumped on by some kids....)

And heres my new toy - a BSB 35cm minidish picked up for a fiver from Ebay![]()
LNB seems to be 10770 MHz which causes problems with receivers these days...... I managed to get one of the French 5W analogue services on this ancient heap this afternoon, although on a bitterley cold March day it wasnt long before I was driven inside again.

great pic A S,
i take it the clear plastic wardrobe at the side is where you have your dish seedlings ready to plant out when there bigger![]()

Yes it is a greenhouse. It belongs to my other half. She has the green thumbs and puts her seedlings in there for the slugs to eat every year![]()
nice pics, the neighbours must not mind them i thought you would have gone motorised by now

Planning on going motorised - probably the big dish this summer. Ive got the motor - just need a warm weekend now to get it set up.
I get some funny looks from the neighbours, but dont really care. They used to be sheilded from view to some degree by dense roses, but next door cut them down last summer...
Note there isnt a decent permanent mount to be seen - 2 sets of fence posts, a tyre, and an old metal post borrowed from the local allotment which has been banged into the ground a couple of feet with my sledge hammer!
Oh, i thought you owned the whole house in the picture.
nice one, it wouldn't bother me if i was a neighbour of yours not like its a massive 1.8metre or somethingOriginally Posted by Analoguesat
you could get a long scaffold pole and mount all the dishes on that ?

Dont you get any problems when its really windy ?

Yeah - the 19E dish falls overOriginally Posted by zorba

It occasionally blows the others out of alignment, but 2 minutes pulling on the dishes normally has them back on beam

What does your wife think of your love of satellites? Does she get nouty with 5 dishes at the end of the garen?
