What does it offer?

Does it give the advantages of MA 2 without the downfalls - ie losing the satellite order in favour of an alphabetical order.

This is biggest reason I can think of not going to the latest version so I hope they've fixed it.

I have downloaded it. What it seems it has done is the folowing.

1) The box is more responsive when updating channels.
2) Faster changing channels.
3) Going through the menus is more responsive.

All round there is a better feel and reliabilty to the box then first purschased.

I reccomend you download the new softaware.

Appox download and install time is 15 minutes.

Thank you for your report. Perhaps you can answer my question about the order of the channels. Is it now possible to have them in satellite and/or transponder order (as it used to be) rather than in alphabetical order?

Any idea what the total number of channels you can store now is?

Now that Nokia has stopped support for the Mediamaster 9800 S, where can I still find the new VA 1.1 software? Does anybody know of a website that has offers a download? I am thinking about taking out a HRT subscription and the new software is needed for their new Viaccess2 cards. Ed

AFAIK It's at Astra 19E 12607V 22000 5/6 (NTV)

But it might be MA2.0 version, try it and see

Enter "system configuration" and select option 6 "receiver upgrade"

system configuration PIN default code is 1234

RX will then tell you if it will upgrade or not

My above receiver has problem in booting, it constantly repeats the NE1.2 9860 message. I tried Hardware RESET but didn't work.

I can't upgrade it through the Sattelite, I will be gratful if u can send me the downloaded version or recommend me some site where i can find that software.

I just bought a Nokia 9800S and try to install it without success. I had the menu the first 30 minutes and then the screen went black on my TV. Now I can't get back the first installation menu anymore or anything else? Could you help please?

Reset your Nokia:

Using the remote control, switch off the Mediamaster 9800 S.
The time is shown on the display.
Now press and hold the Program+ button on the Mediamaster 9800 S.
Keep holding the Program+ button and press the Program- button as well.
Keep both pressed until "CUSt" appears on the display.
When you release the two buttons, a message (Pull The Cord) appears on the display.
Remove the power cord from the socket, wait five seconds and then plug it in again.

You should just be able to drag the file across using IE6 T24, just tried a test file.
