Need Proper Guidance

Dear members,

I want to buy a personal Dish Antenna for home viewing. The free-to-air channels in which I am interested, are on IntelSat 7/10, 68.5E satellite.
This is the only thing I know. So the things I would like to know are:

- What should be the size for the antenna
- What kind of dish antenna (must be strong enough)
- What kind of satellite receiver
- What kind of cable
- Approximate cost including everything
- Additional information/advice you would like to give

I am in Jaipur and would also like to know about good dealer with reasonable prices.

1. 4 feet dish is Enough for pas 10@68.5
2. Always Mesh is good as it air easily passes through that
3. Normal FTA box can be purchased for FTA channels cost start from 500 RS
4. RG 6 is used for Digital tv reception


Cost of setup will be around 4000 RS

You also need C band Lnb for this that cost from 250 RS to 10,000 RS

Dear Moradabad,

I met the dealer and told him about my requirements. He says 8ft. antenna will be better for clear viewing and the cost is 4k. And the total cost including antenna, C band lnb, fta box, wire will be 5200 rs. Is he charging reasonable amount or high? And he also said that all the products are of china. Is it fine to make a deal with him?
If yes, than should I go for "made in china" products or some branded stuff? If branded, than please let me know the good brands of all products (fta box, lnb etc).

Sameer nowadays you wont get good items, only few dealers in selected cities are selling good products.

Generally what you are getting is absolutely Chinese Cheap items, they dosent come with any warranty at all.

For Fta viewing you can buy the products.

My only concern is the 8 feet dish, because in 4000 rs he can only offer you cheap local made mesh dish.

good Mesh dish cost starts from 7000 rs, so buy some good dish thats all as if you have local made dish you wont get good signals.

Ask the dealer to get you good dish like catvision, spacelink

Local made 8 feet dish cost starts from 2500 Rs
Branded starts from 7000 to 8000

Receiver locals is 500 Rs
LNB 275 to 1000 rs
