Thread: Authorising process,of first white card activation,how long this process will go?

    Authorising process,of first white card activation,how long this process will go?

    Hello!
    does anyone know,how long the actication,of the new white card needs time?
    someone told me i have to wait 10 hours up to 2 days over satellite,now i wait around 5 hours,and still not avtivated!

    how long is this waiting time normaly?

    It depends upon the priority given to your activation by bskyb and how many other actions are in the queue.

    But most changes/updates/activations take only a few hours. People spending money on Subscriptions tend to be first in the queue. FTV Cards are low priority and take longer.

    Two reasons:

    First (and most usual) is simply the number of "transactions" waiting to be processed and queued for transmission. But even then, 24 hours is pushing it to the limit.

    Second is the rare, but not unknown, eventuality that the relevant signal has actually been sent but your Box has failed to receive it.

    So, assuming that the second cause could apply in your case, you may have to ring Sky again.

    I suspect it's sheer volumes of cards as much as anything, with all the activations AND renewal of keys for 8m+ cards.

    NDS is used in Sweden by Viasat, and activation is done in seconds. You can even "kick" a renewal for your card, if your box is off for a while, via their website and your card is alive again within seconds. The number of customers is a lot less than the UK...

    in Sweden ,the use tunneled viaccess,i could imagine that the upgrade process maybe then a little bit diffrent,from the orginal nds!

    can i wait on every channel for the update,or does the update maybe come only on one channel?

    Update signals are sent via the Default Transponder 11778 V, I believe.

    It doesn't matter - your Box looks there automatically.

    I think you'll need to ask Sky to send the Activation Signal again.

    Are you sure? To use Viasat you need an NDS cam or you need an NDS receiver. According to Lyngsat it's NDS... The card Viasat supplied says "NDS" on it...

    No,does not work ,i cannot contact it from outside uk,my agent will do!
    again,but he is on holiday at the moment!
    today,i found the reason on the net why it not works


    A few important notes:
    Many have made the mistake and put the new white card straight into the digibox, which previously stnad years in the cellar. This does NOT work and can lead to problems during card exchange. Therefore STRICTLY please leave the old card in the digibox and wait until you are prompted to insert new viewing card. Sky writes about 24 hours, usually if they should happen much faster (2-3 hours are usually sufficient).

    i do it via versa,this i think is the reason why it not works!

    My System: Samsung SKY HD box wintv nova-s2 tuner card+Pheonix & infinity USB unlimited
    make sure you put the old card in your box before then new one, Sky says leave it for 24 hours, it usually works after 10 minutes, but stick to Sky's guidelines if you are having problems.

    if you get it right within 30seonds on inserting the new card it'll say card change over complete and it'll work straight away.

    Hi there!
    in the beginning of the upgrade process,i did not know,that it is nesersary,to put the old card first and then the new one!
    i do this already 3 days ago,then the massage in the old Sky box aprears autorithation in progress,and sucsessfully complete!
    first the card show not autoreized yet in hd receiver

    then after i have made the autorizing process in the old box,now i got on both boxes old and new Sky hd,wrong card inserted!

    how it looks at the moment,i have now big problems,coz i have no uk telephone line,to acticated it!
    my agent told me,also about the lnb problems with the tuner input,on many modells,he recomend me a software upgrade,but this not solve the problem,i try to access the secret menu,to change lnb input,but this combination from analouge sat not work,nothing happens,in the menu itself,i got information it is only posible to swtich off the lnb but not change the input!
    very strange is ,that i have signal on input 2,where normaly is reservated for the hd record only,of internal hd,the agent told me!
    on input one,where i got no signal,where it should usaly come,this board is for the upgrade of the datastream,he recomend me now to connect a twin lnb,with both signal of 28,5 east!
    maybe the receive,waits because,of a unkown strange software fault,for the data on the wrong input!

    why input 2 lost the signal after power interrupt,i dont know,then like i already explained,i have to put to input one,swich the receiver on.nothing happens after that on input 2,where the porgramm works before the power interrupt,then not satelltie signal here,i put back to input one,also no signal,but then,after replug again,signal comes back on imput 2,where it first disapear after the first power interruption!
    when i dont change,the currencly installed lnb cables,i woild never get signal again after power cut!

    also iam not exactly sure,is now my upgrade suxess or not,i got the massage upgrade in progress,but maybe it is never happen,and i got not informed?
    what should be the lastest soft for the pace?

    also very strange,i cannot access the helth menu,alway when i type 4 digits,automaticly 4 new digits are genarated,and when i try to enter the health menu,to loock on the receiver health status,it also want accept the numbers!
    i think with out telephone line,i can only use limited functions of this receivers..!

    You need to update the software in your old Pace hd box.

    Only the new software got the option of changing to single LNB INPUT in secret menu.

    You can never get the HD box to work with a single LNB if you don't do what i am saying, i've been there done that.

    Or you can use a Twin LNB and run two cables to the hd box

    okay,i try with the twin lnb this evening,the first problem was,that the signal disapear,on input 2,after pressing the power button,and start the upgrade,the receiver,did not recogneized that there is no signal,with twin lnb then it should work!
    how can i acess the health menu now ,does anyone know the pin?

    i connect now a 2.lnb on input B
    make the update again,then the receiver says,after booting card change over complete,first when i only connect one lnb,this massage never come,after upgrade!
    but i still got the massage wrong card for receiver,i think i have to wait 24h again!

    that was the key!

    one last question must the 2.lnb,always be connected,for the card update,or is it only for the hd recording,and first activation,and normal monthly updates come,over the first input also,without need a 2.cable?

    No you need both LNB connected.

    If you have the latest SW in your Pace you can change to Single LNB input in secret menu.

    You get Sky+(recording) free of charge if you have the Sky HD box.

    The health menu is a diagnostic tool for Sky themselves: The "PIN" it asks for is not the same PIN as the one you yourself use for eg Parental Controls.

    card activation

    the 3 cards i received took 3 min and one took 5 min.
    one took 2 min as well.
    if it is taking so long then probaly the soft were could be not loaded
