My System: Sky HD Vision 5/12 Switch Quattro LNB

Signal quality without Signal Strength on one connection

I have a Quattro LNB on an 80cm dish connecting to a 5/12 switch, and then a Sky HD box.

The symptoms I have is that on one of my connections to the HD box provides 75% signal quality but 0% signal strength. The other connection shows 100% signal strength and signal quality. The problem follows the connections, i.e. if I swap connections, the problem follows the cable.

What might give rise to these symptoms?

Have you tried a different output on the multiswitch?

Also check cable connections either end.

Spot on guys. Other points OK, so definitely indicated a cable problem. Removing the wall plate showed that some shielding on one input cable was making contact with the other input cable. Problem solved with a bit of rewiring.

Thought this was going to more involved! Apologise for being such a simple problem!
