I've just popped out and gave the back of the dish a coat of paint its going to need another coat, the shadow of the 1.2 on the 1.8 put things into perspective.

Nice. What paint are you using? I want to pant my Gibby but will probably do the back in green and front in black-ish. Current green paint on the back of the Channel Master is flaking badly.. thought maybe a spray paint will do better here.

I had some green fence paint CJ but it looked to green so I put some white to it to lighten it,

I will never get the right colour tivu you have seen me trying to colour match before :-lol

TBH, I feel like I have ruined it by painting it but I had to do it:(

The rear of the dish all painted next job is the fence so it cant be seen from the road bloody rules and regulations, ive been out and picked the wood up, hopefully I will get the stud work done today if it keeps fine.

yes - there is always someone ready to grumble or cause trouble when they spot something new -
Although i,m in a rural area with no very close neighbors, i,m still quite close to a "national park" border -- so still tried to hide my dishes as much as possible - also i,m exposed to strong winds here - so had to consider that too -- black paint all flaking off the back of my 1.8 c.m. now -- it does seem a shame to paint them but it has to be done sometimes .
cant find the pics yet on my p.c. ? - that i was going to post in the other thread - of my current 1.8 c.m. setup - may have to take some more.

regards -- nelson.b.

I will be happy to help if i can - i,v tried quite a few different l.n.b. setups on the 1.8 c.m. over the years - K/u and C - and the present setup works well, and has not been changed for the past 18 months or more . my view of the arc is restricted at the extremes especially the east - where 53 degrees is my limit in k/u and 49 degrees C band .

Thank you nelson, I might have problems at about 49E onwards due to a fence,

But now having got my stud work up for the fence and gate i am a little more pleased:), if I put the 1.8 2ft from ground level the top of it will be where the 1.2 is now, looking at the picture below I should be able to get it 3ft from ground level if need be:).

How come you are putting up a gate/fence ?

Doesn't look like your garden is accessible off the street.

I am putting a fence up so the dish can not be seen from the street as my friend who works in the planning office as advised me to do so for planning permission:).

I am not going any bigger than this pete I am sure it will be plenty, but I might replace my 1mtrs with 1.2 C/M at some point, the chap who I bought this from also has a brand new 1.2 C/M:rolleyes:.

If it's going for a good price you could get it for a fixed dish on a sat you use most, when feed scanning 10e, 5,8, 12,15 west etc.

My 1.2 is stored in shed as I can't be bothered lifting it up ladder to fit it, too awkward.
