Can confirm 'something' has changed, now getting 12604 Sky News\WDR strong and clear (previously not receivable here on 1N & 60cm), & ARD\ZDF etc got better signal.

In that case the new 120cm line should look something like this in the north:new-1n-european.jpg

^^ "In that case the new 120cm line should look something like this in the north"
Very probable. 60cm here went from fringe to seemingly well within the 60 line.

^ "about south beam near turkey and cryptus how the reception now ?"
Yes, would be interesting to know what they did exactly with the beam.

So I guess the old 120cm line is now probably close to the new 60cm line.

I was on the 120cm line before and an 80cm was just about OK for most transponders although not great and no real rain margin.

Here's the new official SES footprint map for 1N.

Looks like I was a bit pessimistic with the 120cm line but the 60cm line was pretty well guessed.

As we suspected the south has lost out a bit but western edges of Russia have also gained nicely.

If we compare the old footprint map to the new one it is clear that the old footprint did not cover the Madeira islands to the west of Morocco properly.

The satellite was not in the right position until they re-positioned it.

Now Madeira is within the 120cm line and people there and in Scandinavia are happy. :D

Paranoid people will say the pan European beam now covers west Ukraine properly but not the east.

Not trying to sounds like a smarty pants, but this new beam is how I originally expected the wide beam to look (using educated guesses from the 1N beams at 28.2E) once it was moved to 19.2E so I was rather surprised to see SES's first attempt.

Also, anyone notice it is very similar to 2G's new European beam (assuming it ever launches!).

Yes the theoretical footprint of Astra 2G looks a bit smaller, it doesn't cover Madeira or Crete or Athens or FYR Macedonia.

But Madeira is part of Portugal so they will have to cover it.

Crete and Athens are part of the EU so they will have to cover them or customers will not be happy.

When they cover Crete and Athens then it will also cover FRY Macedonia.

So I expect the footprint of Astra 2G to change to cover those areas.

Pretty sure the current 1N European beam is the old PE2 beam.
