Astra 2E: Central & East Europe Reports

Nellybell,if you were able to watch BBC and ITV until last tuesday ,your dish shoud be at least 120 cm..because I've seen that the signal is a bit stronger in your area ,than in Bologna...The change this morning give us hope, but I think that is better to wait ,before invest money in a bigger dish.....But have you controlled the BBC signal this morning? Maybe you'll be surprised....Hi!

Hi Luxlizard!
Magari! - as soon as I read your post, I ran straight to the TV to check the signal but there is nothing :(
Have you continued to receive all morning?
BBC, ITV and Channel 4 stations?

Thanks for your input!

The signal at 13,25 CET has weakened....BBC watchable ,but the strenghth has lowered..and unfortunately ITV for the first time is scrambled..not watchable...Chan 4 weak but watchable, chan ITV +1 weak but watchable...

Hi, just found out that my friend about 10 mins drive from me also got a signal back this morning but she just wrote that it is starting to break up again ...

Nellybell:I think that is better to wait a few weeks before decide our strategy...I'll wait at least a couple of months..(Health reasons)...The only immediate possibility, is to watch BBC and ITV on line...Unfortunately I can't give you the link ,if you don't know it,because we are not allowed to do it on this forum...Bye..

At 14 CET time all BBC,ITV,CH4 disappeared completely..,but we have a 100% signal from all the CBS,all the secondary channels and religion channels....Happy?

I believe that we ,at the edges of reception ,shouldn't give any positive feedback because ses punish us for that awful thing

Dont blame SES - they just build the craft the broadcasters ask them for! :D

Anyway once things settle down the power will probably be turned down a little to prolong the life of the electronics - we have seen that happen several times over the years.

Personally I don't really care what SES does at 28.2°Ε. I have opted for alternatives anyway - so called "plan b" (streaming is a good one for now :D ).

Confirming, no 2e bbc or itv uk beams possible with a 105cm dish in prague, niether multi or single focus. Local bars with under 180cm also unable to lock on signal.

I'm tech-illiterate but my (very good) guy has just been round and tried for 90 minutes to get a decent signal without any luck. That's on a good weather day here in Prague. I was however getting BBC1, BBC2 SD plus BBC2/BBC4HD last night OK.
Looking grim then.
Question for admin. Is there a thread where the commercial aspects of this issue are discussed? I'm not techie, but I'm good at lobbying...

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Rights and myriad other factors have been discussed endlessly in a great many Threads. Most of them, it sometimes seems!

I can imagine that. I'm serious about lobbying. I have just sent an on-line FOI request to the BBC regarding encryption costs, for example. I'd be happy to open a dedicated discussion re such lobbying, but am unsure where the forum would most welcome such a thread to be located.

Use "Members' Lounge" >> "The Meeting Place" for now.

We can always shift it elsewhere later on, as appropriate.

To be fair this is an enthusiasts/hobbyist forum so as such there is no such section to discuss lobbying for what people consider to be their rights. Admin will have a think about it behind the scenes however, I do personally think that if the signals are out there then it is your right to receive those signals wherever you are assuming you alter your equipment accordingly (in your case it may be a much larger dish). The problem is that UK television stations have been able to be received for so long now outside of the UK people assume it is their right...............

Will do. I believe there is a fairly straightforward commercial solution, which i will outline, however there will be technical aspects to it which I am sure people on here will understand far better than me. Of course this would not be the main forum for such a discussion, just one of many. But I'm determined to have a go at this, and I have some experience with this kind of (lobbying) project.

I have just found Ch4 and Ch4+ on 12480 V 2/3 27500.
I´ve been wondering whether in future we will be able to find some extra channels on the so called "hidden" Sky frequencies, I remember that at the time before 1N we had ITV too on these hidden frequencies.
For what it counts a friend of mine with a 1.8 mt dish cannot get anything here in Rome.
Based on the report from Coviello ( grazie mille !!) it could be that here in Rome a reception would be possible with a 3.5 mt dish, the point is ...how to install this monster on the flat roof of our block of flats !!
