I've got a stronger signal today, all channels OK except CH5, just like the old days! Has 2E been nudged over a bit more?
maybe it's stopped raining at the uplink site :)

My Satellite Setup
150 cm dish >freesat humax foxsat hd+ I use daily
An old sky.uk pace digibox I use sometimes to watch non-freesat channels
90 cm dish >Pace hd for My Sky Italy
humax combo 9000 (terrestrial and sat)
My Location
Bologna-Italy
Tonight I couldn't sleep and decided to control if I was able to get a signal from Astra 2e..At 2.30 CET many channels from the 2E were watchable, and it lasted at least until 3,30 when I was able to sleep again..All the BBC ,were good,ITV was a bit scrambled ,but ITV HD was perfect,..oters ITV 2,etc..some were a bit scrambled ,others watchable,as well it was the chan 4 family..only the chan 5s signal wasn't available.....So we in Bologna,Italy ,150 cm dish, have a reasonable signal in the morning..9,30-to 13,30 ,CET and at night as I said before..

I havn't been following this thread but I imagine you all know that you can watch the beeb and ITV on arabsat 26E. Is that set to change? The footprint covers Europe nicely and a lot more. My 60 cms dish gives me around 70 percent quality. Before rushing out to spend money on enormous dishes just buy a motor. My location 44.12N 4.33E southeast France.

I've never heard any suggestion that BADR carries BBC and ITV and they certainly aren't shown on any listings sites: Such a small dish has a wide acceptance angle, so are you not simply getting the 28E transmissions even though it may be aligned to 26E?

Please tell us what Transponder parameters you have for, say, BBC2 HD?

Thank you. Apologies to all. I am still getting acceptable reception in my location with the small dish. When it rains I take the dogs for a walk.

All is fine in central Switzerland, with a 80cm dish focused on 28°, no channels lost

Thank you for all your hard work in producing the map. My question now is, given that the signal is particularly weak in Northern Italy, do you think that the correct decision is to go for a 1.8m dish now? I have seen reports of failed signal in Bologna with a 1.5, so it leads me to believe that a 1.8 is the only solution. Have you any thoughts? Thanks again.

Unfortunately no-one will know until some brave person tries. If you're really unlucky and are situated right on the null then an even larger dish may be needed.

It may be that even a 2.4m or 3m won't be large enough. Someone has to experiment.

Absolutely agree: Armchair pontification is all well and good, but not when decent money is at stake.
