I think the test signal is the one defined by the dotted lines, but it is quite low here, easily perceivable as noise. The stonger signal at 12130 comes from 42°Ε.

Glad to see some testing, I wonder if they'll be working overtime at Bedsdorf to get testing done ASAP as it seems 2F is needed to release 1N potentially fairly quickly.

Thanks strs65. Seems here at 15 degrees off, the beam already tries to match SES published footprint, with no friendly sidelobes.

@strs65 it seems you're too far outside the footprint. Here's a comparison between 42E and 43,5E. On 42E the strong 12130V yields a lock with S/N 16,8dB.12187H is hardly noticeable. Moving to 43,5E both carriers are about equal regarding RF power but both are too weak for a possible lock. The bandwidth of the unknown carrier is considerably wider than the 27,5MS turksat carrier ;)

Reception test, mid East Anglia, of 12188H. 12130V is 42E. RF level would need to be greater for any chance of a lock, whatever the transmission parameters.

No, TLE at Epoch was 43.5419°E with a drift of 0.699°E/day. They probably measured just before 2f 'hit the breaks' and added the drift in the current calculated location. Next TLE will probably show Astra2f still at 43.5 and no drift.

zeeteefje, I am happy to see at least one person who understands how to interpret TLE data correctly.
I must give up trying to explain this over and over again, some people just don't get it or can't read. :(

Astrium has successfully completed the ASTRA 2F testing in orbit and has handed over the control of the satellite to SES who will now validate the performance of its communications payload before placing it in operational service at its 28.2°E orbital location.

This was reported on the Astrium Eads website 2 hours ago.......
