Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum, but have dabbled with fixed satellite dishes on an off since I was a "SKY Pioneer" in 1988 I think. Today in the U.K. at a car boot sale, I acquired a NEC analogue satellite receiver, model 2022 and a programmable antenna positioner model 2025 mark 2, both of which do not have remotes, but seem to be working. My questions are :-

Is it worth me setting up a dish to pick up analogue broadcasts, or have they nearly all gone now. I seem to remember that the last time I looked, there were fewer and fewer signals.

If I decide not to bother about analogue, will I be able to use the dish positioner with a digital dish? I would imagine that it would be alright. If so, please can anyone recommend which motor unit to purchase and any other advice.

Many thanks in advance for any replies or information. I realise it is probably asking a lot, but could also really use a copy or PDF of either operation manual. If I go ahead and install the units, I will keep you posted of progress.

Thanks again. Mel. (satbod)

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Still stuff out there to be had, have a look at one of the Admin's websites on the subject to see a list of satellites and channels:

Also you could use the positioner for a 36v motor . Can i ask how much you paid for the units ?

Its a little out of date thanks to my summer hols (the last channel on 13E has ceased whilst I was away!) but there still stuff on 5W & 19E.

5W transmissions will probably ceased at the end of next year, and all remaining analogue channels on 19E will be pulled off air at the end of April 2012
