Got this from eBay with a matching Squarial, It came from a TV shop in Brixham Devon and given the condition i assume that it must have been a display model. The Tatung reciever looks brand new all the packaging is there and the user manuals with a BSB activation code hand written inside, there is also evidence of a plugtop being fitted to the mains lead.
The Squarial it came with was used the downlead had been cutoff and the F connector is buried under a vast amount of tape !

Had a new one of those. Was given to my father by some dodgy timeshare outfit, after BSB merged with Sky. You know the thing, see our wonderful complex and get a free (about to be obsolete) satellite system.

Loved BSB!

It only took one satellite to transmit 5 glorious channels, the second satellite was a backup, as demanded by the IBA. Was a complete waste. Still back in the days of quality over quantity (though I always thought the Movie Channel was poor, maybe it was too high brow for me).

BSB had the better picture quality i thought.

It was a waste only 5 channel satellite but the antenna used was better looking too.

does anyone still have the little channelmaster dish that was also used to receive BSB.

I believe timo_w2s does - uses it for Viasat.

Always thought D-MAC had the best picture quality. When NRK was broadcast in this format from 1W, it was of stunning quality. FilmNet on Astra was also pretty hot (especially after midnight :D)
