Hi, I am looking to receieve C-Band from this sat in north west england, I have looked at the footprints but I am not sure if my 1.2m dish would be up for the job.
The main channel I am interested in is MTV Brasil

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/nss806_hemi.html

Footprint is there and has anyone else receieved this sat anywhere in the UK?

Hello,

no signal with 366cm dish on 4177 L @40,5°W here in Germany. Sorry.

Btw. it was not possible to catch this DVB-S2 C-Band signal with 120cm.

Best regards
Edgar.

hi - iandoh -

i live in n.w. yorks and i,v just been checking this out -- i,m guessing that you mean the free to air MTV brazil at 4177L -- i get no signal from this transponder
most transponders on 40.5 west are quite strong on 1.8 offset dish for me
4189L being a strong example
but not all ----
some are weak just on or just below lock 4170L being a weak example

the problem with - MTV brazil at 4177L is that it seems to be a type of high definiton format - my vantage reciever will not see most high def signals -- so i cant tell if a weak transponder or not ---
perhaps some-one else with a high def reciever could check this --- ???

regards nelson.b

Hi yes I do mean that one, and yes its in dvb-s2 so you'd need a dvb-s2 tuner to see it. If there was any hope I would really get a C Band LNB but if its not gonna work then I might not bother.

Yes the stream on both justin.tv and on their website has the logos in differnt places, and a completely differnt graphics set. Can you check if all thats on that feed is that logo and music videos as I believe that might be the network feed.

Thanks, Ian

Hi guys,

I really need receive

Downlink Frequency: C-Band : 4176.5 MHz left polarized
FEC – 3 /4
DVB-S2
Modulation : 8PSK
Symbol Rate: 5.6 MBaud
Roll-off 25%
Pilots “ on”

I am in London and have a 2.4 meter dish with c-band lnb. I was thinking of using a Technomate 6900 (need to purchase tomorrow) previous trials have only allowed us to recieve R channels but not L channels. What do have to do to get the "L" channels?

I am more familiar with standard ku-band receptionbut have no experience with c-band. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello iandoh,

no, signal is not high, as it seems with 93% on DVBViewer and PC-card. That says realy nothing!

Better to compare is quality signal in % with my Receiver Clarke-Tech HD-5000 Combo Plus. So this evening I get 66% on 4177 L MTV Brasil and you must know that stable signal break down when quality is under 60% on DVB-S2 transponder with FEC 3/4. -> So you can see, that there (6%) is not much space between that.

Best Regards
Edgar.
