No such thing Costa ..
Gordon is making reference to my Lancashire Origins..
Where poor folk once survived on bread and dripping ..when food was scarce..
He's 'aving a dig mate..
Don't worry I'd never send you such a thing ..
Lard is rank tasting..
I can verify ..cos once I came in from the pub a bit worse for wear due to some quality ale..and made myself some toast ..
Only beer eyes made me open a pat of lard instead of butter ..and spread it on my toast.
I took a very big bite ..before running to the toilet to throw up..
Lard being 100% pure animal fat in a block..
The stoopidity of yoof..
;)

Many thanks Costa..
The switches arrived this morning ..
Totally suitable for exterior use..
Insertion loss is barely noticeable..
I currently have one connected between the XMW (H) and the Norsat also set for H but selected by (V)
result ..
I now have two mono polarity Ka lnbs using the same IF line ..
so 7 into 6 does go ..
They lied to me at school..

Reading this thread has reminded me of chip butties, something with which refined French cuisine can never, ever compete :)

That's because they don't understand proper chips. They only ever seem to have those skinny french fries.

Perhaps we could deviate from the lard path slightly by me mentioning my grandfather's method of keeping the cold out when he was the youngest of 14 children living in a smithy up in Dacre Cumberland in the early 1900s before the days of central heating emerged as the norm. To stop the bitter cold attacking the chest, the daily routine was to take a good dollop of goose grease and librerally apply to the chest. Then cut to size and shape a layer of brown paper and place over the goose grease, then get dressed in your normal attire and walk 4 miles to school across the frozen fields. Mary Hopkin anyone?

Sixteen - the number of miles that your father walked in the snow to get to school. :)
