Channel streaming problem

My Satellite Setup
Dreambox 7025, Gemini Enigma 22-07-2008, Moteck SG2100 Motor, 8M Broadband, 80cm dish

Hi all,
Hope it isn't too obvious what's wrong.
I'm trying to get my 7025 Dreambox to stream to my desktop PC using Ubuntu and VLC media player. For some reason when I open the stream file I get an image like the attached.
I get no problems with my laptop. Can someone explain what needs to be done to cure this problem. I've tried downloading different plug-ins with no change.

I am not a dreamer but I would have said that because it is reminiscent of a failed gun in a crt tube I would conclude it is not the correct codec that is being used on your PC whereas on your laptop it is the correct one, but that is a pure guess
