I dont think a lot of people realise this, but the following is one of the most critical factors in making the 'freesat' EPG work correctly :-
  • On the FS Passion/Innovation range you must have at least 1 channel in your channel list from 11426H for the EPG to function correctly
If you do not, then the logic behind the FS EPG firmware fails. Since the original 'red button' ITV1 HD has been removed, and Men&Movies has changed frequency, there are now no TV channels on 11426H at all (see KingOfSat). This is why on my channel list, I have manually edited (using SetEditPassion, which I highly recommend for manual control of your channel list) the Freesat Info radio channel with a dummy VPID to force it into the TV list. If you have no channels in the TV list, but you have either Freesat Info or Radio Caroline in your Radio List, switch to Radio and go into the EPG. Watch what happens - the EPG will fill up. You could continue to update the EPG like this by repeating this operation every day for at least 4 minutes to completely fill the EPG. If you have either ITV1 HD or Men&Movies on 11426H, even though they dont work, leave them there to ensure EPG success. Please feel free to use my personal channel list attached, or to use as a reference document for the above. Also note that I have Logical Channel No set to OFF, as there are some non-freesat channels in there, and the channel numbers can look a bit crazy otherwise. Moderator, this is a cut from a recent thread, but I think it could be a 'sticky' in its own right

Another one Stuck - but need to be wary of getting too "Sticky-heavy" ............. I'm sure Admin will review in due course :)

Thankyou for all the excellent work you do wrt the Passion/Innovation.

That's OK Brian, added it myself to your previous list earlier. Next change will be the Channel 5, 5USA etc. on 1N 10964H when they disappear from 2A 12422H and go FTA.

Latest Freesat Channel List, including new Five+1, Five USA, Five USA+1, Five *, Five *+1.
Beware these dont go officially live on Freesat until 8th December (although they are now FTA) so there is no 7-day EPG at the moment, only Now & Next. But they should start to fill up over the next few days, I think.

I downloaded briangw's channel list - "Latest Freesat Channel List, including new Five+1, Five USA, Five USA+1, Five *, Five *+1" and when I loaded it I lost all HD channels' vision but had intermittent audio. SD channels OK . I reverted to my old channel list and all the HD channels OK. Can anyone explain?

Hi all,
New to the Passion+, not to sats though ;)
Thanks to all for the help given here in the forum, great work.
My situation is now this:
Followed all the instructions I can find, and used this latest chan list, all the HD chans have no Video and some audio - intermittent.
Going back a chan list (nov) all the HD chans work fine except CH4 HD which is again no video but some sound.
My loader is 1.5 using the latest Oct 10 (av130fs)

any help or suggestion welcome!

thanks again to all,

Dave

Sorry to anyone who has uploaded this latest list. I recently upgraded my version of SetEditPassion to v1.05 and it seeems to have screwed up my HD channels. I have reverted back to previous version and will clean up this list and re-post it.

Sorry again guys.

Hi Llew,

thanks for getting back so quickly!

But, I've tried your file, twice in fact and the problem still exists :( No video, intermittent sound - on the OSD bar there is no blue HD icon either.

cheers

I have just tested this one on mine, so it should be OK.

Although I do notice that on some HD channels you have to use the RED Audio button to select Dolby Digital even though I have specified the correct APID in the file. It seems to give the Stereo/Narrative channel by default. If anyone has any thoughts on this please let me know.

This list also includes some bits of ITV currently being tested on 11053H on 1N

Guys,

thanks for your work :)

Llew, your file worked a treat on all chans.
Brian, your new file works great and with all the new chans except CH4 HD, that still has intermittent sound and no video. (No HD icon on the OSD bar either)

thanks again chaps :)

I had a bit of a 'funny' with Ch4HD the other day, and when I checked the TP settings, I noticed that Pilot was set to AUTO. I set it to ON and it sorted itself out. Worth a try ?

Wolfgang Litzinger has just posted the latest version of SetEditPassion (v1.06) which - in my hands - saves and retains HD flags correctly. I have uploaded the saved files to my unit (PassionPlus) successfully. Latest version is available at:

_http://www.setedit.de/SetEdit.php?spr=6&Editor=81

Brian, I have edited your programme list to fit my area (Anglia) and set the programme numbers to the Freesat defaults for those that might want to use them, AND I have included the latest Channel 4 HD entry (on frequency 11126V) as specified on Lyngsat

_http://www.lyngsat.com/Eutelsat-28A-and-Astra-1N-2A-2B.html

For those folk that would like to use this entry, don't forget to edit the original frequency for 11127V to 11126V as follows (check Lyngsat for confirmation):
11126 V
DVB-S,
22000, 5/6
MPEG-4/HD

The Channel 4 HD on 11126v still stutters (buffering) after a few seconds, as before, but recording play acceptably with occasional minor hiccups, so it can be watched 'time shifted'. It seems to me that the final set up for Ch4 HD is still 'work in progress', so I suggest we keep watching on Lyngsat for future changes.

N.B. I tried uploading the DNL file with this reply - no luck - I'll try later. Any tips?
