Hi
My 7025 with oozoon and flash with barry allen, has stopped - it starts but is continuously stuck on the lcd initial display and does not go any further.

Any ideas on how to diagnose this, as I cannot get far enough into the system to see if the flash is working.

If the flash has failed, what are the symtoms

HELP

You expertise is at hand..

I need to work out how to do this, as I cannot even get to the image selection menu, any suggestions.

I was thinking of loading the 7025 raw image from dream and see if this work, in your opinion would this allow me to then test or erase the flash to reload the software

Well first try with dreamup, the lan connection on the laptop did not even see the dream and so have no idea of the preferred ip address.
I will have to try and find the old zmodem lead that I used many years ago and try again.

Unless there is an alternative to this, I see no option

power down the 7025, then when you power back up hold in the channel up button on the front of the receiver, until you see the ip on the lcd screen.

Enter this into your browser, firefox is best, then you get the flash image screen.

To use the web interface flash method the ethernet must be connected to a DHCP enabled router. Is this so ?
If you're seeing stop but no IP then its not connected for some reason.
Try not to use DreamUp if at all possible, its fraught with bugs and problems.

Do you have an alternative...

Tried Dreamup before reading this, it can up with the error of
" is not a valid integer value
So even this does not talk properly.

I am battling with computers in other areas so my replis may not be regular

No there is no alternative. I would do everything possible to get the web interface method working before I resorted to DreamUp, it really is that bad.

Have you checked the router lan connection ?
Is it connected with a standard patch lead ? Do not use a crossover cable.
Have you check in the router admin page to see if its assigned an IP to the Dreambox MAC address ?

If you really must use DreamUp I would advise not to try using the network option. Just use a known good Null modem cable. Start DreamUp, click Flash, then power on the box. Follow instructions from there.
If you're using an RS232 cable be aware it may not be sufficient , a 232 cable in its most basic form only has 3 wired connections, 2 to 3, 3 to 2 and 5 to 5. That will not work with DreamUP. You need a fully connected Null modem cable.

As mentioned, I would focus on the LAN method and use the web interface if at all possible.

Hi
I did try everything, I do remember that a satellite installer friend had a boot loader designed to interface with the first part of the boot.
He re-did a 7000 quite a few years ago and got it to work.

Unfortunately, we have not talked for over 7 years, so have no idea and as far as I can see, there are no service agents for Dream in the UK.
I am going to ask the shop where I bought the 7000 if they know of someone who can look at it

Thanks for your help.

It is now, back to the old faithful 7000 and work out how to get sly on it.
