Hi,
This afternoon, I came across an Echostar 1.2M offset disn. It is not used anymore and the owner wants to get rid of it.
It looks in perfect condition and so much like a Channelmaster. It still has the old LNB, feedhorn and actuator on it.
Does anybody know this dish? Is it any good?

Should be fine, although you will need a KU band feedhorn for it. :)

Thank you rolfw,
How does this dish compare to a CM?
As I am mostly interested in Fringe reception.

It is quite possible, a Prodelin. but I need a lead to follow.
It will be enough to confirm that Echostar used the Prodelin range.

THank you, Crossbones

This sounds rather like my dish. I had noticed that it looked very similar to what I saw in Prodelin brochures. I sent some scans and details to Prodelin USA, and their UK distributer Sematron, who both confirmed to me that Prodelin had made dishes for Echostar and that it appeared to be the equivalent of their current model 1130, and that it would have f/d 0.6 as with all their offset dishes (also same as Channel Master).

One strange difference, I never got to the bottom of, is that my dish, by comparing the details that came with it (see C values of attach below) with calculated look angles gives an offset of 21.5deg. The 1130 specs however state offset 22.6deg. Seems unlikely to me that they would have redesigned their moulds, so my first guess was that the feedarm lengths changed. Maybe if anyone out there has a 1130 they could measure them?

These are dimensions from my dish taken with tape measure hence all approx +/- a few mm:
reflector height/longest diameter 1325
reflector width/shortest diameter 1220
reflector max depth 112
vertical distance from bottom to max depth 620 +/-10mm
feed support arm bottom, fixing centres 740
feed support arm side, 2 off, fixing centres 965
reflector mount, fixing centres, 4 off 315

Anyhow, I have found it a very sturdy dish, especially the mount which looks much heavier duty than the Channel Master, and if it is a 1130 the performance spec is equal.

If you do get it you might find this useful:
