That's my baby. Especially the filters and C-band scanning. Then recently someone ported it to OpenPLi from OpenViX.

I could do some blind-scan on my DM8k, but do not wish to do it on 10*E, simply because 9*E is nearby and channels will be picked up from both birds. Because of that, I think it is better to do some competition on stand alone satellite, for example 13*E or 16*E

If you look at the screenshot you'll see the plugin has filter that stops that from happening.

What name of this plugin? And how it can differentiate whether particular frequency from 10*E or 9*E?

1) Blindscan.

2) Read satellites.xml and avoid known transponders within Xº.

Is fast blind-scan is so important parameter? I mean, why such a hurry? Is not accuracy main issue? I just blind-scanned scanned 13*E on DM8k without any plugins, it took exactly 15 minutes. Will install blindscan plugin (maybe tomorrow) and try again.

Yes, because you want to watch your finds before the transponder shuts.

I am interested in feeds but I never use blind scan. There are various sources including this site where I can see what other people have found without me spending hours moving round the arc blind scanning. And if I am looking for a particular feed which hasn't been reported I know the most likely satellites and tp's to check. An example was last Sunday when I found the RTE feed on 1 West for the Tyrone v Down GAA match by checking the saved tp's there. It was either going to be on 23.5 East, 1 West or possibly 37.5 West.

I use the Dr HD Grand Triple (I also have a F15 sitting unused at the moment, some people might be jealous) to tune in the feeds. I have the AzBox Premium looped through and I can switch over to that for 4:2:2 feeds. I didn't know there was the possibility that another 4:2:2 receiver could be coming on the market. I often wondered why there was only the AzBox available.

Most stuff I find I never see listed anywhere. But I'm not going to try to convert you.

Same as Huevos........guess our satisfaction is derived from your own set up when you can add or subtract the input paramaters to achieve the result............'moving round the arc' and your own config is why this forum is full of hobby peeps helping each other with related info........soon as you read the threads here you yourself have a go to check your own capabilities.....great and every day is different.

Still respect the likes of Señor stanley_ cassidy..... satelliweb and sat-benelux........he too is his own man but has helped us to become 'sat nutters' with the arc.........no probs with that for me and most of us do not wear anoraks***!!! :D

so the octagon sx88 is now up there - on top of the TM-5302 and TM-5502 - shame it doesnt blind scan in the lower SR's i.e sub 1000 - the sx88 can read them in manually, but the sx88 4k cant....however, still good STBs for their price, and maybe a good feed hunter option....

i read on a certain satellite superstore, that there might be a MK4 TM-5402 ....u can even pre-order it....wtf.

sx88 is not an enigma box. If you want a user friendly interface it has to be enigma.

hey mate, im not sure everyone will agree with that statement.
i am an E2 fan.
this thread is "Fastest Blind Scan HD Receiver" - nothing about E2.
lets please just nominate recent\modern\ANY BS contenders regardless of underlying OS.

Interesting, especially considering Technomate have done very little in recent years on the satellite receiver front.
Perhaps "William-1" might know more about this, he used to be in contact with some of the Technomate people?

Spec Wish List:
1. Selectable blind scan range of 100 to 100000
2. 4:2:2 (highly unlikely)
3. DVB-S2X
4. 4K
5. 36V motor control (yes, I am dreaming)
6. USB 3.n ports
7. Keep the NDF/CNDF file format for the satellite database
8. Anything I have excluded...

The TM5402 Mk3 has been discontinued and we are waiting
for Technomate to release the new Mk4 model.

? we will have to wait & see I have had no contact with TM for a few years now.

User LO input (for non standard lnb's used by experimenters ).
User input for frequency scan range.
Scan frequency step choice.
Independent H / V / L / R menu option setting when using non standard lnb in Blind Scan mode

Still thinking

If you get any info please keep us updated. I like the TM-5402 series, they are easy to use and with friendly menu structures.

My 5402 M3 packed up last October (IR sensor not responding to remote). Spoke to them and they advised probably unrepairable due lack of replacement parts. The man did say though that the Mk4 was coming in November 20. Since then, nothing.

Judging by the receivers offered as an alternative to the 5402 mk4 I'd assume that page has been up for a few years.

I'd like to see:
1. Extended IF range
2. VVC/H266 decoding
3. Full LNB settings (inc. voltage for band etc)
4. Polariser & multiple motor control with auto signal peaking
5. Custom video scaling and position
6. Auto uploading of scan results including approximate location & dish size to public server to map beams.
7. Internal hard disk
8. A nice display on the front for channel name or parameters
9. Continuous blind scan with automatic testcard capture or short clip of each new found feed
