In the words of Rob Smedley following the Canadian GP;

Perez's brake issue was "a fairly f*****g terminal problem" before adding "why you leave a car out when you've got that sort of problem is beyond me."

I'm missing the Smedley words of wisdom this year

I rather enjoyed Austria - nice track, with plenty of overtaking opportunities. Shame the lap isnt a bit longer though, as a 70 second lap is more like a big Scalextric track!

Red Bull wont be impressed losing 3 of their 4 sponsored cars as the 3 retirements :D

No point in saying much about the race today until we hear more about Jules, as race results just don't matter at the moment.

Ive just seen some video of Bianchi's crash. Its a bloody miracle hes still alive as the impact lifted the tractor rear end a good few feet up into the air, and moved the tractor at least 6 feet laterally.

In my own opinion the enclosed cockpits being discussed atm wouldnt have done much to lessen the severity of this particular incident.

It is a horrific video to watch and as you say a miracle he is alive - especially the speed he hits, where he hits, the amount of movement of the tractor.... and if you look closely, the marshal behind the tractor also very lucky. Testament to the crash helmets, as it looks from the photos as if he has no actual injury on his head - but unfortunately it is brain damage -
"the 25-year-old Frenchman remains in intensive care at the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi in a critical but stable condition, it has been confirmed that he has suffered a diffuse axonal injury.
Such an injury is usually the consequence of the forces of a rapid acceleration or deceleration of the head and affects the nerves in the brain."
It's also been said that 90% people with this type of injury don't usually regain consciousness - and those that do are usually in some kind of vegetative state unfortunately.

Also, Andrea De Cesaris - has a motorcycle accident this weekend and died.
Whilst racing F1 he was known as Andrea De Crasharis due to the amount of accidents he had.
