Hi to all!!!I'm a italian user.I'm passionate about Brirish TV...I read in some forums that you can watch some channels via a card sky UK expired!!!

(The channels are:ITV2 HD,ITV3 HD,ITV4 HD,Channel 5HD,Motors TV UK,4Music...In fact it seems to me very strange!!!In my opinion there is a lot confusion...I ask you who are the greatest xponent of about.These channels to see what needs to be done?Card sky UK expired,card FREESAT or subscription sky UK?Thanks in advance!!!

You need a current subscription Sky card, not an expired one, to get the HD channels. Not sure about Motors TV and 4Music though.

No confusion at all - the 4 HD channels you list are all pay channels and require an HD pack level subscription to open them. 4Music & Motors TV are ftv - can be received on an expired UK subscription card. (It has to be expired and not cancelled and one of the current sky cards - one of the old blue ones with the yellow house logo wont work. Even if you get a suitable card it may not work much longer, there are rumours of another card swap in the not too distant future)

An expired subscription card will also give you 3 or 4 other not very exciting channels, Sony TV / Sony TV +1 and I think LTV

Freesat card? No cards used for Freesat UK

Freesat (UK) = transmitted in the clear, eg the BBC, the majority of ITV, all the shopping channels, all the religious rubbish.

"Freetoview" is a Sky only classification. The channels are encrypted but you can get a card for a one off payment (of ~£25) rather than a monthly subscription. For a long time some of Channel 4 UK, and the Channel 5 UK family of channels were ftv, but its fallen out of favour since they went fully clear

Yes imagined...Out of curiosity with a FTV card active how many channels you see?With a expired card 3 or 4...

Half a dozen or so. An expired Sky UK subscription card reverts to an ftv card so will give you exactly the same line up of channels.

(Note - you will not be able to record on a Sky+ box with an ftv level card).
