KU on C Band Dish

I have a 2.4M C band dish .Should i decide to cover it with fibre glass mat using resin and hardening will i be able to receive KU band singles.

You'll be able to receive Ku band with the dish as it is, the only thing you need for that is a proper lnb, some c-120 flange lnb and proper feedhorn for PF antenna. Note: there's a possibility for some losses in signal, due to a dish mesh (porous) structure, but I guess it shouldn't be higher than 15-20%.

As suggested, try first without modifying. Then as a test (on a day without wind) stick some kitchen foil onto the mesh surface with wallpaper paste to see how much the signal improves.

As long as the holes aren't too big you should have no problem picking up ku sats with that dish, however, signal quality will not be as strong as if a solid dish was being used.
