i have a fortec star innovation hd with motorised dish, i have lost all "H" channels and i cant move my dish to different satellites every time i reset my channels i get all channels but then horrizontal channels break up then i loose them all is this water ingress or the lnr failing and if its the cable is there a person in the manchester area that can replace the cable/lnr for me.

Very likely to be your LNB but you can quickly check if your receiver is OK by connecting it to another dish/LNB, even just a Sky dish.

Your LNB may require +18 volts DC to switch to the H polarity transponders, the receiver may not be putting out enough DC voltage to switch, or your coax has a problem with a resistive short, water in the coax or connector can cause this.

A DVM* would be needed to check the output of the receiver, checking at the LNB,(with the coax disconnected, power the receiver off first) the center conductor to the outside of the connector should show +18 volts DC (plus or minus a volt) when a H polarity transponder is selected.

If your receivers power supply has a problem your motor may also not be able to move.

*DVM, Digital Volt Meter.

+1 for Terry's answer. It sounds like a power supply problem to me.
