Made myself a bamboo windchime..

Found an old bamboo pole in my dads garage ..
I believe it came in the centre of a roll of carpet some years ago..
I was a bit bored and wanted to make something outside with the last rays of sunshine on my back.
hardwood disc chime support ...with a hardwood circular hammer....
and a cat shaped sail to catch the wind..
mono fillament fishing line to support the bamboo chimes ...of varying lengths.
How subtle and pleasant the sounds produced are compared to the brash metal ones..
very chilling in a breeze ..and a cheerful 'konichiwa' when activated..

Cheap ones can be rather jangly but the pentatonic ones from the "Chimes Of" series are quite pleasant

Well I'm glad I wasn't the first to say it.

Next door neighbour used to have one and listening to the damn thing with its amelodic, aperiodic janglings used to grate on our nerves. We longed for the day that the wind would finish the job and blow the damn thing down.

Lol ..fwiw I agree they can grate a bit ..
but this bamboo one is much less demanding on the ears..

Me too-sorely underused word around the world these days - i cant remember somebody saying "peace" on the news.
