I have an eight year old Sky Minidish ( it was installed by Sky in 2005) with a Sharp single LNB.

I need to fit a twin or quad LNB. What are my options?

I understand that a current Sky quad LNB is not a straight replacement for this eight year old dish.

Several small Dishes.
Much else.

Zone 1 or Zone 2 Minidish? (Albeit, it probably doesn't matter much given the strength of the new Birds).

I use a Triax BskyB >> 40mm Adapter (Couple of quid) and any generic LNB I happen to have in the spares box.

eg eBay Item # 150494572584 (Should fit older Minidishes without problems)

Not sure of your location, but I'm using a Zone 1 in this manner up in the North and it's fine.

Really no need to consider the theoretical mismatch between Feedhorn shape and Dish shape.

No but you could possible get a mk4 dish with quad if you can justify the cost. Some early dishes were poor; like the raven with only a single screw holding the boom arm in place. Adding a heavier lnb normally always threw the focal out a tad.

There's people selling a quad lnb complete with a legacy adapter and f-connectors to fit your dish for £8.09 with free delivery.

Thanks for all the advice, and the links to suitable LNB and brackets.

Will stick with the dish I have, but carefully check the alignment isn't affected by the heavier quad LNB.
