I wonder if this will be stronger in C-band than NSS7.

Massive signal from Reuters here in North Yorkshire on the TD110.

Boring content, though - the Oslo Trial

Going to try the 80cm next.

Strong and stable on the 80cm too, despite the persistent heavy rain.

Steady signals here even on a motorised 60cm dish during heavy rain no signal break up,
Scanned the entire Ku band no new services added atm.

Well I've done a blind scan of C and Ku on the 1.5m and the only things I can see are the Reuters Feed and the European News feed.

Apologies in digging up a thread last replied to nearly 10 years ago, but I think my query is the best place for it...

Has anyone else experienced wildly fluctuating reception levels from this satellite recently, at least on its Europe & Middle East Ku band beam?

There's only two broadcast signals on this beam, the Reuters Live service and the Algerian TV & Radio multiplex, but over the last week or so the signal levels I've received from this bird has been all over the place - sometimes Reuters comes in with a SNR level of 9.0db while at others it dips to below lock level (5.5db) while the Algerian mux isn't quite so wild but still ranges from around 6.8db to 9.5db. Checking a few minutes ago, current levels are 8.1db for Reuters & 8.9db for the Algerian mux. Mid afternoon to early evening seems to be the time the signals drop right off to their lowest, with it "recovering" somewhat from about 8-9pm locally (Reuters gets above lock level, around the low 6.Xdb mark). Even when reception is above lock levels, the SNR readings are swinging wildly by up to 1db in just a few seconds.

I'm using an 80cm dish with the LNB centered on 22W - I've changed the downlead to the DiSEqC switch from the LNB, changed the DiSEqC port in use and even changed the LNB (from a used Inverto Black Ultra to a brand new one of the same model) and nothing makes any difference. None of the other satellites I've set up for (inc. 14/15W & 30W with offset LNBs on the same dish as the one receiving 22W) are having similar fluctuating levels. One might suggest weather related issues but the conditions locally over the past week have been very settled with no rain (other than a small shower late on Sunday 20th March) & very few clouds so I'm discounting that as a factor.

Last time I had a Zone 2 on 22°W was last year, Reuters had become quite variable, often falling below lock (used to be an easy catch) whereas the Algerian transponder became much stronger than Reuters (previously was the weakest of the three active transponders with only occasional locks). Once NHL left and Reuters being irregular I took the dish down.

Reuters is absolutely fine here at 1435. A shade over 11dBW which is 96% on my TM5402. Algerian channels are 10.5dBW / 92%

No specific information here, but are you sure that this satellite is not beginning to move into inclined orbit after 10 years of usage? Maybe it must be checked.

It is of course possible the uplink is being jammed intermittently at times by a certain pariah nation.......
