Very changeable here, extremely windy, during the night, nice early on, now it's raining, but at least it's quite warm.

It apparently got up to about 20 degrees today, it was so nice I went out to the shed to work on my "jobseekers" Briggs & Stratton engine (takes all the fuel I give it but just won't do any work in return!!), need to pull that thing apart, whether it goes back together again is anyone's guess though... :p

Good luck Vipersan, but don't believe the BBC !!!!!!
Checked my weather forecast, on the BBC website, and the Mets, to be safe, both identical, as I have gardening work, to try and do, this weekend, and the forecast was good, for tonight, but dodgy, for the weekend, so decided to try and get some done from about 18:30, got 20 minutes into it, when the rain started, and now it's really coming down.
Hopefully they're also wrong about this weekend and I can look forward to some nice sunshine !!!!!!!!!!

So here is Mr PDP on holiday just down the coast from Looe in Cornwall. We arrived last Saturday, the sun came out as we arrived at our accomodation and its been sun, sun, sun since with a little cloud today. I cant believe how lucky i am this week, this time last year i was riding out a severe storm on the Isle of Skye.

I was watching the news from the states last week and it seems that arctic air is making another appearance but its early this year. 4 to 6 weeks earlier than usual.

12 days before the end of summer Calgary in Canada has been hit with near record breaking snow.

Though they are not all happy to see the snow.

Here the urban heat island effect is making overnight temperatures much warmer in towns and cities than in rural areas.

As you can see its quite lot warmer in towns.

The Diary of Samuel Pepys.

This week its 1665.

Radio 4 Extra

Daily 14:30 - 14:45 repeated 00:30 - 00:45

Monday 1 A severe frost brings London's horses to a standstill and the streets are given over to football.

Tuesday 2 A freezing cold winter gives way to a May heatwave, and the dreaded bubonic plague claims its first victims.

Wednesday 3 More people infected with plague, while Sam is busy with navy work, since England is now at war with the Dutch.

Thursday 4 In spite of sickness and fear around him, Sam has one of the most enjoyable nights of his life.

Friday 5 By the end of the year, deaths from the plague begin to go down, and London starts to recover.

There is an omnibus on Sunday 06:00 - 07:15 and 12:00 - 13:15.

We still have wars and plague (ebola).

We still have moaners moaning about the weather.

His diary tells us he was a pillock who was about as much use as a wet blanket and his attempts to big up himself sound as daft now as they were 350 years ago. We won the navy battles with the Dutch despite his help because he was obviously one of those civil servants who spent all day gawping out the window trying to think of what to write in his diary when he got home.

Pepys lived in the little ice age and he saw the Thames freezing up many times in his life and wrote about it in his diary. This is what makes his diary interesting. I don't know if he went skating on the frozen Thames but if he did falling on his backside would be the high point (though maybe not for him).

September is great. Sunny and nice tempartures. In general Spring/Summer has been good except for August. That month was much cooler and wet in comparison with previous years.
