Been raining more or less constantly for the past two days, and so everything round here is like it was back in February. Heavy mist in the air in the mornings.

What was I doing Bank Holiday Monday? Working coz Easter Monday isnt a Bank Holiday in Scotland

Instead we get St Andrews Day in bloody December!


Anyway yesterday I was sitting in the garden in the sun with a mug of tea after work. Today I had the headlights on driving home as is very misty indeed here

Well, this morning we had a ground frost, i havent seen one of those down here in May for a long time.

Update:1 degree at 7.am walk to shop for milk and bacon!! Beautiful blue sky, three days of it be great.

Expected frost here, but didn't get any. Now 11 C and rising and a terrific day in prospect.

Indeed, the cat is basking in the sun with no approach to the robin 4 foot away from it. Great day for dxing i'm hoping, should the better half give me some time.

Lucky me: Just went down to Town for my Torygraph and saw my first Redstart of the year - A handsome chap perched at the top of an as yet leaf-free tree.

Rare sight around my neck of the woods, and i'm a half mile from a wood. There's a real lack of bird quantities around here this year, hardly any greenfinches,goldfinches,chaffinches for that matter. Not seen many coal tits this year either, maybe the mild winter had something to do with it. But then you would expect more smaller birds to survive a mild winter.

Quite pleasant and sunny here atm ..
Chances are it will stay like this for a couple of days ..
Not that I will see much of it with my head in my combi boiler...

A pleasant start to the day here, though it was much colder earlier. Monday looking good to go out for a spin on the motorbike.

Lovely day here, though the wind has a bit of an edge to it. Mowed the lawn again (twice this week) and off shortly to look for a pistol type spray nozzle thingy for the shrinking/elongating hose I just bought. (Primarily to wash the car and top up the landmine in the meadow). By the way PDP, we have loads of chaffinches here, not sure of any other birds as they are about the only ones I can readily identify.

Supposed to be the commonest bird in britain followed by the Wren, not sure if that still follows SP.

Dull & overcast here, although its not too bad being outside. Ive strimmed the lawn and this afternoon the grass around OH's allotment gets a haircut too.

Up to 15C and a lovely blue sky here in t'Repooblic, so SWMBO and I are going up to the Drove Road on top of t'Moor and will walk along to Black Hambleton trig. point and back.

Fab walk - saw any number of Meadow Pipits and, new to us, considerable numbers of Green Hairstreak Butterflies amongst the heather.

We spent the afternoon at a scuplture exhibition at Birtley, Surrey.

A nice sunny day so far,these were from ex RAF Bruntingthorpe this morning, exhibits and jets being readied for the display at the end of May.

And finally, RAF Tristars awaiting their fate, being sold or the dreaded scrapman
