It has happened --> at least on 27/11/69 & 11/12/69. Neither exists any longer along with most of the rest of the 1960s totp vt though.

Well the Beeb are well in front of the actual broadcast dates now, and this week is fabulous

Sham 69 Hersham Boys, Korgis If I had you, BA Robertson Bang bang, & the first appearance on TV of the Specials with a VERY young Terry Hall

A DLT week, but its been found online. Not a great quality transfer but its better than nothing.

Cliff Richard We dont talk any more, Flying Lizards Money (havent heard this one for years), ELO Horace Wimp, Joe Jackson IS she really going out with him, so all in all quite a good week.

A JS week so not generally available but if you know where to look it can be found. I found a decent vhs transfer from when it was on UK Gold years and years ago. ;)

The Jam when you are young & Boney M gotta go home are the highlights for me. Several acts repeated from previous weeks as well.

Not 100% confirmed yet but TOTP 1980 should start in early January There will be another big gap next summer - the show was off air for 2 months due to a Musicians Union strike in June & July. Plus there are a dozen or so yewtree'd eps which will be missed out.

One wonders if shows containing Harry Webb might be deleted at some point

As usual the first showing of Top of the Flops is 30 minutes and the other two repeat showings are 35 minutes. The upcoming programme descriptions are the same Weekly pop chart presented by David Jensen with performances from XTC, Blondie, Matumbi, Buggles, Sad Cafe, Squeeze, the Jags and the Police and dance sequences by Legs & Co.

So what will be different in the longer versions of the programme?

If you watched the first showing two weeks ago you would have missed this.









Who would have wanted to miss that?

Only a mentalist would want to miss that!

Last week you would have missed the extended psychedelic play out after the titles had finished.




A good use for the forum magic mushrooms though they were not essential. Or maybe I have taken them too often . . .

So what will be different in the longer versions of the programme?

One of the acts is cut for timing purposes on the early show. Its normally (but not always) one thats been seen on a previous edition.

No surprise but the Beeb have confirmed today they have suspended(*) all DLT shows after his recent conviction.

(Fortunately the missing ones are fairly easy to get from on line sources ;)


(*) well actually - continued to refuse to show these episodes.....

The chartss are stuffed full of good stuff now and its getting difficult to pick a couple of highlights. However this week I'll go for

Nick Lowe Cruel to be kind, Gary Newman Cars & BA Robertson Bang Bang as my favourites.
