ot best video of footprint
The shown C- and Ku-footprint in that video must be the combined coverage of ABS-1, 2 and 3. One satellite can never cover a large region like that.

Yesterday evening's TLE had ABS 2 at 74.9 East moving East, so ABS-2 should be together with ABS-1 at 75.0 East now.

The first transponders of ABS-2 were activated today in the morning. They used a quick test of unmodulated carriers and then loaded transponders with digital signal. Here they are:

10971 H 12539 8/9 8PSK
10998 H 12616 8/9 8PSK
11031 H 12539 8/9 8PSK
11058 H 12539 8/9 8PSK
11665 V 26077 8/9 8PSK

We have a strong signal in the rest of Russia and little weaker in Central Asia countries.
I don't sure about Europe (if look at footprint map), but you could try receive these signals.

Quite strong also in Finland. More than 15dB (125 Gibby). No changes yet on C-band as I just blindscanned it and same levels as before. Any idea what/when/are there any C-band changes in future..? A-beam strong here but B-beam weak (2.3m mesh). This new bird will use Global, east-hemi and west hemi and surely east hemi looks like bye bye for channels, if it will be use..?

telecommunications satellite ABS second During the tests were confirmed by the calculated parameters of the satellite.
Successful tests allow the movement of the satellite on ABS 1 ABS 2, in accordance with the original plan. The commercial launch ABS 2 is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2014.

Will those transponders on ABS 1 having a Northern beam still continue to do so if they are transferred to ABS2?
I am asking because I could always receive these Transponders up to now, but can't receive any new Transponders from ABS 2 using the Russian Beam, or putting it in simpler terms, is ABS 2 going to have any Pan European Beam?

We gonna loose (South area) all Russian channels from this position with ABS2 Russian Footprint .

After channels immigration , ABS1 gonna be transfer at 159.0° E .

Ok , thats the bad news with Russia Beam of ABS 2 .

The good ? news are , that C band channels of ABS2 are gonna be much easier to get them .
