I can always get them to rise I was missing holes, G suggested using bigger trays its a 10db from Len:D

I know RB, but when my chicken was half cooked, and just about to put the puddings in there is no need :D, it could have packed up Saturday when jacket potatoes was in it :-lol

Ahhh...the advantages of having a Rayburn range on 24/7 (at least during the 'Winter'). Disadvantages? It doesn't have a thermostat, so a lot of astute calculations (guesswork) to get the oven above your required temperature (to offset the door opening) are required. Never burnt anything yet though...

the advantages of having a Rayburn range
I love the old Rayburn Pete,

I have been fitting kitchens for around 20yrs now and only 1 of my jobs had one, one of the farms I metal detect on has one its lovely, the farmer says the only time its been turned off in 40 yrs is for maintenance, I have a picture of it I will post it up at some point.

I take it Souffles are a tad tricky, then?

Souffles?.........one can only dream.....though it's a wonder for doing casseroles and any dish requiring slow cooking...

I've just acquired a Lidl "Silvercrest" Slow Cooker for that: £12.99

Not used it yet, though.

I used to have one years ago but it must have got mislaid during a house move or periodic clear-out.

My Mum has one as does my English second home near neighbour. Don't think one would be much use to me, I am by nature a slow cooker....it's those complex culinary terms in the recipes that do it....
