I just wanted to watch some Nagravision encrypted channels on 19.2E, like TVE1, TVE2, teledeporte, antena 3, telecinco, just the national channels.
However apparently they belong to the Canal+ bouquet, which consists of a monthly subscription which includes some sports and movies packages, however I don't want that.
That's why I'd like to know if there is a way around it. I was thinking about a spanish equivalent to Fransat, which is the national french tv bouquet which is transmitted on 5W for free, provided you own the Fransat labelled receiver.

Yeah, you can get TDT, which is the equivalent of French Fransat. However, it's generally difficult to obtain as it requires that you are not able to receive these channels terrestrially (in Spain, of course). There is a site that sells TDT receivers/cards but I can't recall its name. No doubt someone will advise you soon.

TDT isnt difficult to get - its VERY difficult to get as you need to prove you live in an area not covered by the terrestrial transmitters!

To be honest if you want the channels your best bet is a Canal+ sub.

Captain Jack said that there is a retailer though. I wonder if it's something fishy.

Ive seen a retailer somewhere but you would still need to pass the "I live nowhere near a transmitter mast" test.

Someone on the forum investigated this 2-3 years ago - ISTR they wouldnt sell outside Spain.

In our area of Spain, Galicia, if you have no terrestrial signal you have to contact the relevant local government department for an official engineer to be sent out. Measurements will be taken, and if appropriate, a report will be issued approving the installation of a sat system with its decryption card. So, unless there is someone corrupt out there....

Try the TVE website, and also Antena 3, Telecinco etc. I'm fairly sure there's live content available outside Spain on the internet, and as you know, TVE internacional and Canal 24horas are free to air on satellite.

How interesting, the thing about the caravan! I have a caravan, but I'm not that keen to watch Spanish or Galician TV so I'll probably give it a miss.

My caravan is not registered in Spain at the moment, and the receiver , dish and paperwork seem to be 1800€ So I'll pass on that one!

hmmm you'd need to provide the caravan registration documents etc. Quite the bureaucratic exercise :)
Not for a foreign caravan. The caravan doesn't need to exist.
