I am still trying to find the right dish at the right price, but in the meantime I have surveyed the existing infrastructure of terrestrial cabling and conduits etc in the undeground garage which I am trying to utilize, and have come up with the following design using cascade multi-switches. This is all based on Triax kit, because I believe them to be reliable & of good quality, but if anyone has any relevant comments with regard to that, I would much appreciate them. Any other manufacturer recommendations also. Never having installed anything as complex as this before, my design is very theoretical, so if there are any obvious flaws please feel free to point them out. My original thoughts were to have power sockets installed near every switch and use external DC adaptors, but apparently I could also supply power to them with an Inline Power Inserter or even via the terrestrial feed. Any advice here also welcome. I wasnt planning to run the 5th (terrestrial) cable between each switch, I was thinking of picking up the terrestrial feed at each local splitter point for each block of 4 apartments. Only 20 (Brits) of 32 apartments are being connected. The existing terrestrial cable is satellite quality, and I plan to use the last individual cable link up to each apartment from the switch (having taken a feed from the local terrestrial splitter) with a diplexer to separate the signals as it enters the apartment. I have reverse tested one of these cable links using the existing 1.25m dish/LNB (with no 2E/F Spot Beam obviously) with no obvious reduction in signal strength, so I think it should all work. I am hoping that as long as I get a decent enough signal using the 1.8m dish, that the signal boost capabilities from the combination of Amp, Quatro Splitter, and Cascade Switches should keep the levels up to an acceptable standard. Can anyone see any problems with the cable lengths. I plan to use Webro WF100 for all new cabling. I hope I have explained myself clearly enough, and hopefully the schematic makes it easier to understand. Many thanks in advance for any help, and sorry to have to keep asking so many questions.
