Personally, I love the snow in winter and the cold weather, just not that keen on the bloody cold wet windy weather that we get in the southern UK for our winters!

How are you guys getting snow already? It's meant to fall up here where it's meant to be cold, you know, cos it's grim up north apparently... :-rofl2

Be very careful what you wish for, it has claimed 7 lives so far mostly from heart attacks whilst clearing the snow.

The infrastructure in the UK is ill-equipped to deal with extraordinary snowfall and car drivers' inexperience and lack of skill don't help much either.

Back in winter 2001 I had 4 dasy off work after we had 12-14 inches of snow over several days. The region just about ground to a halt. I put the 60cm dish on a snowdrift & hunted down Anatolia1 at 50E :D

(colour testcard bars, nothing exciting - but it was in good old analogue so got added to the analoguesat.co.uk website (RIP))

I hurt my back shovelling snow two years ago, I still love the stuff though... :p

Sadly, extreme weather does claim lives. Despite this, I still love the deep snow and intense heat. For now

One actually died in his car, we didn't hear whether it was a heart attack or not just caught the end of what they were saying. The panic of being trapped would be enough.

Huge problems in New York state - 5 feet of snow in places!

I was ski-ing in Mammoth USA in 2001 (or 2002?) where they'd had so much snow that it was like driving along a trench when they cleared the roads. There were walls of snow either side about 20ft high! Similar to this picture.

Perhaps not as deep, but some of us will remember the Winter of 1963.....
